Chapter 2

As I entered the auditorium, I saw that everyone was hurriedly getting seated as Prof. S was already standing in the podium waiting for all the students to settle down. So I too went and grabbed a seat beside Lizzie, who is apparently like a friend to me. After all the students were seated in their respective seats, the Professor began to speak.

First of all, a very warm welcome to the returning students whom I am ever so grateful towards for choosing our school as a pathway to not only become more cultured in various fields, but also to learn to coexist and be mature in making decisions. Further, I would like to welcome the new freshmen and once again thank you all for choosing the Salvador school of the young and gifted. And as I always say, we are a large family who will always stand beside each one of you, be it at times of needs or at times of sharing happy memories. And so always remember that I am everready to help you guys and that the door to my office is always open for providing advices to you, young minds. And with that I would like to conclude my speech. Hope you all have a great semester ahead. Thank you.

Everyone just clapped at what the Prof. said, and officially the new school year began. The twin Saltsman sisters took up the task of showing the new comers to their respective dorms while the various factions went along to do their own work. I too, as always, thought of going to the library to spent some quality time with my own self. And as I stood up to go, I was stopped by none other than the school icon of uniqueness and power, Hope Mikaelson. She told that Prof. S was asking some specific students to meet him at his office and I was one of them. I showed a doubtful face to Hope as if gesturing to her, now what could have gone wrong? *sigh*. She just shrugged her shoulder as if telling me she didn't know. So, we just went to the Professor's room as asked for.
There, we were greeted by the other members of the Super Squad, a group of teenagers who thought of themselves as heroes (of course, this is just my opinion).
The SS comprised of Kevin, Milton, Leo, Hope, me and my sister and the twins. Kevin and Milton belonged to the vamp faction, Leo to the wolf faction, while the rest of us belonged to the witch faction. And to specify, Hope belonged to all of the three factions at the same time since she was the tribrid, i.e., vamp + wolf + witch. But till now, she had only activated her witch side and wolf side, and not her vamp side.

So, as we all gathered in the room, Prof. S brought out the Unison Globe, i.e., a globe embedded in strong traditional witch spells which reacted to strong magic. The reason for him to take that out from the storeroom could only mean one thing, a new supernatural must have been detected. So, in other words, this globe was a supernatural radar.
As we were guessing about the reason for our summoning, the Professor began to speak;

I know you guys must have been tired from all the travelling away from your homes and all. And truthfully, I am really sorry for calling you guys to my office, but as always duty calls. As you guys know what is the globe and for what reasons it is brought out, I'll cut to the chase. Yesterday, at midnight the globe glowed showing two signs of new supernaturals being detected, and the fascinating thing is, both are in the same location. So, I would like you guys to accompany me to rescue our new members. The location is in Georgia. I want the vamps along with the wolf pack to pinpoint the exact location, while the witches can verify it. And the ones going to the location would be me, Prof. Alex, Hope and Lucas. The rest are requested to standby so that if things go wrong, you are to take immediate action.

All of us, looked at each other and nodded to what Prof. S instructed us to do. Everyone else left the room and only me, Hope and Prof. A were left behind with Prof. S. (Info to be noted, Professor Alex is our physical defense educator who excels in using all the weapons at disposal and he acts as a close partner to Prof. S in his so-called dangerous missions).

And thereafter, Prof. S took out his large bag of weapons which included dart bows, classic bow and arrow, wooden stakes and of course, knives. Each one of us took one for ourselves and I took the dart bow. Prof. S gave the car keys to Prof. A and all the four of us headed out. I was reluctant, of course, as usually, during field missions, it was either Kevin or Milton who accompanied. This was my first time so I was kind of nervous as well as stressed about whether I could be of any help to the others. But since some of my friends as well as my siblings claimed, that I was kinda like the second strongest wizard only after Hope, so that thought encouraged me to a certain extent. To be honest, I didn't consider myself as strong but yes, I too was a unique material in the school (no doubt in that) since I could not only use my own magic but I could also make use of magic accessible from nature, i.e., the magic surrounding us. This attribute was similar to that of the Gemini twins, who didn't possess their own magic but siphoned magic from things which contained magic.

In the car, Hope and I sat at the back seat while both the professors sat in the driver's seat and the passenger seat respectively. As we were waiting for the exact location, Kevin called Prof. S and so that we could hear what he was saying, Prof. put the call on loudspeaker. Kalvin told us that there were suspicious activities being carried out in the outskirts of Georgia as witnessed by some of the local folks. The wolves had scouted the location and they seemed to have found a large warehouse. But when they tried to enter there was a strong barrier surrounding it so they couldn't enquire further.

Suddenly, Lizzie took over the call and told that there was strong witch jamming going on so couldn't verify what exactly was going on inside and in that note, she told (me and Hope specifically) ;

Since we can't use witch spells to verify the location I guess Hope and Lucas will be able to do something about it as we would need strong witch magic to overcome the maximum withstanding limit of the barrier.

After saying all that the call was ended by Prof. S who thanked them and told them to standby, ready to take any action. About 3 hours later we reached the designated location and Prof. S gestured Professor Alex to stop the car.

All the four of us came down the car and Hope was ready with the map to do a locator spell. While I was getting ready to use my vision spell to enquire inside the warehouse. (Vision spell was one of the oldest witch spells that allowed the spell caster to catch glimpses of a specific location taken into account. It enables the caster to know about the entire location without risking his or her life by entering the premises without any preparation. This is usually not used because the caster is needed to possess a large amount of magic to cast the spell and since I can use both my magic as well as the natural magic, I usually make use of this spell, when needed).

As Hope used the locator spell, she verified that the location was indeed the one where we could find the two supernaturals. As soon as Hope was done with her spell, I sat down and started incanting the spell, Sehvermogan. As I was incanting again and again with full concentration, I finally saw certain glimpses and I spoke as Prof. S noted them down in his notepad.

The warehouse is quite dark and it seems as if it has been left without being attended to for a long time. There are several rooms. In one of the rooms I can see some shadows and they seem like people being captured and tied with ropes, but I am not sure about it.

When I tried to enquire further, I started to bleed from my nose and suddenly my body was jerked and my eyes opened wide, it was Hope. She had a worried look and even the professors and they all told me that this set of information was enough. And so I wiped the blood off and stood up with Hope's help. Prof. S took out the bag of weapons and gave a crossbow to Prof. A and the notepad was given to Hope and we headed out to our rescue mission.
