Chappell Roan, a 26-year-old synth-pop singer from Missouri. Her first debut album came out in 2023 causing her to rise to fame. On April 5th of this year, a single came out called "Good Luck, Babe!" and it is a song I can't take off of repeat!
I don't listen to a lot of Chappell Roan, so her genre is new to me. But so far, I like what I hear and see great things ahead for her.
This song tells the story of how her female love-interest decides to leave her for a boy. She makes this whole song about how it's fine, and that she doesn't mind that the girl left bc when she gets hurt by the other person, Chappell is simply going to tell her "I told you so!" As she belts beautifully at the end of the song. In short, it's "about wishing good luck to someone who is denying fate."
This 80s-pop anthem is absolutely amazing! The beat, the sound, the vocals, EVERYTHING! The falsettos in the chorus are my absolute favorite and I personally believe it wraps the song up in a nice and shiny bow!
At the end, the song slows down gradually, almost as if everything is spinning... Ending with the line, "You'd have to stop the world just to stop the feeling."
I give this song a 9/10! And I do recommend it to anyone and everyone who's interested in listening to it!
