Chapter 1 - Stories cut by the thread of Atropos. (DEADLY LIFE)

Daytime would have arrived, and just as everyone agreed on the previous day, they all gathered in the cafeteria for breakfast, naturally, Kiyotaka was there before anyone alongside Mondo, as they would have woken up together that morning, soon enough all the other students would have arrived. Kiyotaka checked if everyone was there and concerningly, one of them was missing.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Huh...where's Hifumi...? He still didn't show up, maybe he overslept? Did any one of you see him?

Aoi Asahina: I'm pretty sure no one has seen him...last time I saw him was when everyone was gathered at the gym, yesterday...

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: How about you Celeste? Did you see him?

Celestia Ludenberg: Well, while he was stalking me all day yesterday, I did not see him after nighttime, fortunately.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Maybe he overslept...do you mind trying to wake him up? I think he'd most definitely wake up to your voice out of all of us.

Celestia sighed, rolled her eyes to the side but then she'd oblige.

Celestia Ludenberg: I suppose you have a point, fine, I'll go get him. I'll be a moment.

Celestia left the cafeteria, once she made her way to his room, she knocked on the door several times, she would have tried calling out Hifumi's name but to no avail, sighing one more time, she would try opening the door, and to her surprise it was unlocked, she looked around the room from where she was. It would have been a quick glance as she didn't want to be invading the private space of other people, and so she would go back to the cafeteria to tell the news.

Celestia Ludenberg: Hifumi...is nowhere to be found inside his dorm, his lock was also left unlocked.

Byakuya chuckled, and speak in his usual condescending tone.

Byakuya Togami: Tch...how stupid, though such stupid actions are to be expected from him.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: What did I tell you about the slander, Byakuya? You shouldn't be making these sorts of comments in a situation like this. Hifumi not being in his dorm is concerning...we must try to find him.

Byakuya Togami: There's no mistaking it, Kiyotaka. He's dead. It was just a matter of time before it'd happen, don't blame yourself for this though, you're just a plankton in the sea, you can only dream of swimming against the current, you're powerless. You can't do anything to stop any killings.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: ...Byakuya, I don't know what you have been born with, but this extreme distrust you have of others will be the death of you, I assure you. I don't know who or what hurt you, but if you think you'll bring me down with your attitude, you are mistaken. I'll believe in our survival until the end, because it's all we have. Understood?

Byakuya Togami: Tch...

Even if Kiyotaka tried to look unaffected by Byakuya's words, he knew what Byakuya was saying had some truth to it, he didn't have any control or power over the situation he and the others were in, essentially, Byakuya said what Mondo told him, in his own way.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: So if you're done Byakuya...allow me to continue. Well, without Hifumi, we are 15 people. So let's all gather ourselves in 5 trios to find Hifumi. Okay, everyone? Mondo will be with me...and-

Makoto Naegi: Hey Sayaka, let's team up, Chihiro you can join us too.

Chihiro Fujisaki: T-Thank you...I will...

Sayaka Maizono: Oh? You've made friends with Chihiro, Makoto?

Makoto Naegi: Yeah...she was alone when we were at the gym, so I decided to go and talk to her.
