Chapter Two: I Take a Tour

I woke up with a bird mask up close to my face

"Not my normal coffee I usually wake up to" I said

The person with the bird mask backed up

"Sorry, force of habit" She said

"Pretty strange habit"

"Anyways, you were out for two days"

I sat up and took in my surroundings, I was in what appeared to be a hospital ward, there weren't very many people there, in fact, I was one of the only patients that I saw there.

There were a bunch of doctors and nurses, all of which were wearing some sort of animal masks.

"So this is where all of you guys come from" I said.

"Excuse me?" the nurse by me said

"All of the rioters with animal masks... what's up with them, anyways? The animal masks, I mean"

"Right, you're new here, so... let's see, how do I explain this? The animal masks represent the person's... spirit animal" she said "that's what we'll call it" she added, underneath her breath.

"What was that?"

"Nothing"

"I thought spirit animals were just a bunch of hocus pocus"

"They are, in a way, the masks are just the animals that... I don't know, best represents the person wearing them."

"Are you one of the four that found me?"

"No, those were the Elite Four, they're kind of the leaders of this place."

"Kind of?"

"Later, for now, all you need to know is that we are the F.O.S., more widely known as the Resistance."

"Oh yeah, I think I've seen some of your guys' graffiti around town."

"Hmph, probably Maxwell's class"

"Class?"

"Later"

"There's a lot of laters in this place, isn't there?"

"You have no idea"

"Huh, who's Maxwell, is he one of the four that found me?"

"Nope, the four that found you were the Elite Four, like I said before, the Elite Four are as follows, Frank, he's the gorilla"

"He's an actual ape?"

"Yeah, he's a pet project of Elliot, the one with the bird mask, and then there's Tommy, he's the one with the cat mask"

I laughed

"What?" she said

"So he's Tommy The Cat?"

"Yeah, we don't believe that that's his real name, he is a huge fan of Les Claypool... A huge fan"

"Eh. I am too"

"Oh yippee," She said quietly.

I decided to ignore that

"So who was the one with a wolf mask? He seemed like the only sane one there." I asked

"Peter, he's kinda the main guy of this operation, not officially, but kind of officially"

"Wow, you guys must love word play."

"Whaddya mean?"

"Tommy The Cat, Peter and The Wolf"

"Ah, so you are a cultured person."
