I seated myself onto a leather couch in front of the wide screen monitor as this in-ring meeting between my dad, Taz and Hook was now underway.

I watched intently as my dad spoke into the microphone while setting his attention on Hook.

"Hook, I just want to thank you for coming out here. I just want to clarify a few things. The reason why I pulled you off the apron last week was not to mess with Shabata. Shabata was just collateral damage. I wanted to get your attention and let you know that I didn't feel you were listening to me as much as you should. As much as I can help you, Hook."

The young male just leaned against the corner, eating his chips and not really caring about what my father was saying to him.

My dad, Chris would continue.

"Keep this in mind, I'm doing this all for you, Hook. Okay? Now some people say I'm the greatest of all time at this. Other people talk about The Learning Tree, Hook. I AM The Learning Tree."

"Think about everybody in AEW who have listened to my perfect parables. Who have listened to my pearls of wisdom, have gotten to the next level. All of them! MJF, Orange Cassidy, Eddie Kingston, Danny Garcia, Jon Moxley, Ospreay! All of them! So many more have gotten to the next level. Everyone that's come into the Jericho vortex, has come out the other side a better performer, a better wrestler and let's be honest. A better person as well. And that's what I want from you, Hook. I want us to scale to the highest of heights together. I want us to get us to the top of wizard mountain so we can both breathe in the rarified air of Jericho and get to the top! I know I can get you to the top!" My dad genuinely explain, trying to get through to him.

But Hook looked amused as he kept munching on his chips and looked on.

My dad then asked "So what do you say, Hook? Are you ready to put this animosity aside and truly sit under the brilliant branches of The Learning Tree? Come on man, what do you say?" Then waited for an answer.

Hook took a moment to take a glimpse around the crowd while it appeared that he already had an answer in mind. So the young man held the microphone to his lips, softly sniffled and simply replied.

"No!"

This caused the fans to cheer while Chris, my father looked at him blankly for a bit then asked with confusion as his eyes filled with disappointment.

"Come on, dude. I mean wh-what are you talking about? What do you mean no? Huh?..."

Once again, Hook brought the mic up to his mouth and clearly spoke. "I don't need your help!"

My dad stands there as he didn't seem too keen on this kid's answer, the disappointment was still visible in his gaze. "Dude..... Don't be stupid..."
