7/4/24.

Odessa Florida.

I was at my dad's property by his Florida home. My brother and twin sister's attended the festivities of the Fourth Of July with our parents.

It's about 2:34 in the afternoon and the whole Irvine family is outside the house for some BBQ.

I was seated at the table with my twin sister's and mother while my dad was standing by the grill with a spatula in hand. The ambience was serene, the sun was beating down and the smell of burnt charcoal lingered in the air.

Jessica, my mother gazed over at me across the table "Your father tells me that you've been doing very well for yourself. Were you able to get any shots at a title match at all?" She asked.

"Well, no. Not yet but to be fair, it's my first year wrestling so it's going to take a lot of time for me until I'm able to get such an opportunity." I replied

"I'll be surprised if it'll take you long to gain a title shot. Because sweetheart, I've seen how talented you were on Television" my mother, Jessica commented in a positive manner.

A soft smile appeared on my face as my eyes lit with hope "Do you really think I have that chance, mom?"

My dad, Chris then chimed in "She's right, Jess. It's going to require a lot of time. Hoping for a title shot to happen sooner is like making a wish upon a star for it to come true."

My mom, Jessica turned to look at her husband, Chris. "Awe now what's wrong with a little hope and wishing?"

"Realistically it doesn't work that way, you can't just hope and wish for that to happen soon. When I was a young man at the time, I didn't get the easy way into gaining a title shot, I had to work my way up so that I could be worthy of one. That's how things go." Chris said in a matter of fact manner.

Welp, there goes my hope, it's always something that's gotta shoot it down.

Suddenly my brother, Ash came by with a satisfied smug on his face then set the blue and white cooler on the center of the table. "I caught our meal, some spotted sea trout"

My twin sister's Sierra and Cheyenne grimaced with slight disgust.

"Eww, no. Why can't we eat hot dogs and burgers like everyone else?..." Cheyenne asked.

Jessica, our mother turned to "We will" she reassuringly replied.

My dad then turned to reply "Oh come on, girl's. A little fish won't do any harm, I think some trout sounds delicious!" Then he praised my brother "Nice catch, son"

I know today, I'd need to go catch my flight to Brooklyn but I at least have enough time to have a little bite so I stuck around with my family for a few.
