Chapter 3-Fontaine Arc Born of the Laboratory

While Clervie and Peruere talked with Kazuha, Tomo and Yoimiya about how they find the hunters, Crucabena talks with the Hunters about the cure "So..Is there a way to cure them to turn back..Into humans?" Ayaka asked. "Well..Other harbingers don't know the cure. Dottere is searching for a cure. We shall work together. I took Yoimiya, Kazuha and Tomo under my wing. I still run the house of the hearth. It was a laboratory...They were all orphans as I took them in when they were children. It was abandoned but..Dottere also needs our help like you. I wanted to get rid of pure blooded vampires. Including the ones they possess, I'm just an ordinary vampire..The first pure-blooded vampire was a Sumeru child that I once took care of. He turned into a harbinger to help us but..His vampire powers got out of control after Yoimiya's experiment. This marked him the first pure-blooded vampire. When it was Kazuha's turn, his experiment nearly failed due to Scara possessing his entire body. So that's why I asked Tomo to calm him down. The next day everything was empty, perhaps he was taking revenge on the researchers for experimenting on him and the other children. Yoimiya found me and..I didn't find other children who were experimented." Crucabena explained. "But how did you take them in? After all, they are being tested as vampires.." Aether asked.

Crucabena explains the story of how the house was a laboratory. The reason why is because most people were infected and turned into vampires so Crucabena decided to select 100 orphans from the 7 regions. After she finds 697 orphans without their house all children decide to live together however they don't seem to be aware that they were tested for the cure. One day at Crucabena travel to Inazuma to find the last 3 orphans. She saw Yoimiya on the streets because her parents died due to her young age. "Come with me..I will raise you as my child..Like a loving 'Mother'." Crucabena said. "You sure won't hurt me, Miss?" Young Yoimiya asked. Crucabena treated her to a toy so that she wouldn't be so scared of the thunder as she went looking for 2 more children till 2 young people stopped Crucabena as they have a child with blonde hair "Please take care of him.. "Tomo's mother said "Why?" He asked. His parents explained that the vampire wanted to drink their child's blood and they had no choice but to fight them "Sota, this young lady is taking care of you, alright?" "But mother.. Father." The young boy said. His parents left his last goodbye to them leaving her to take care of the boy. As they walked to find the last child to become of the experiment they saw a young boy with his mother as they both struggled to survive, they both felt confused when they first saw Crucabena and her 2 orphans she adopted earlier. "You too?" Crucabena asked. They both nodded as the young boy with his red streak hair saw his own friend..with Crucabena. He blinked up to his mother, his mother decided to live at the house taking her child with her.

They made it back to the house safely as the thunder roared. The 3 orphans all ask each other how their parents abandoned them one by one. All of them decided to live as besties..Chiaki was surprised that her son is already making friends. Back to Present Crucabena told Ayaka that the reason why they were turned into vampires was because they were experiments to make a cure. "But why..Children are not supposed to be an experiment in the first place!" Ayaka said as smacks the table filled with anger. Heizou persuades her to calm down.."I think you need to calm down first..Excuse me mind if i talk first?" Heizou asked. Crucabena lets him speak.."Well I met your adopted children of yours at one time. I was traveling with my family." He said.

Back to the flashback as Heizou. As in the brought daylight young children of the hearth playing together outside "So who wants to play hide and seek till mother comes back?" A young Yoimiya asked. Kazuha and Tomo nod. Yoimiya decided to count as Kazuha and Tomo hide till Yoimiya found them. After around 20 seconds Yoimiya decide to find her friends till she heard a stick crack "Found you! Oh?" She said, Turn out what she found was a young boy with light green-olive eyes. "That's okay..Although I didn't join your game.." The boy said. "That's alright! Do you want to find my friends?" She asked. "Sure..If you don't mind..What's your name?" The boy shyly asked. The young girl told the boy her name is Yoimiya and he replied his name is Heizou. The two decided to find her friends Tomo and Kazuha. Once they were found of their hiding spot the 4 played together till afternoon. "Heizou, It's time for lunch!" His father called. Heizou waved goodbye to his new friends.

Back to the present..Ayaka fully calmed down and continued asking Crucabena about the cure but she told about a pure-blood vampire. Crucabena told her the pure-blooded vampire was a Sumeru child who was once an Inazuman named 'Scaramouche'. A puppet..Turned into a human..She sensed that Furina was familiar to Scaramouche since both were created by their archons before their disappearance. Heizou sensed his intuition that both of them were turned into humans by their creators. Crucabena shows a print as Ayaka grabs the print "This one here is from..the Kamisato clan?" Ayaka asked. Crucabena nods that the print was from the Kamisato clan itself that someone from Fontaine borrowed their print and forgot to bring them back. Lumine and Aether were both thinking about Furina if she lives in Fontaine before. "Excuse me, Ms.Crucabena. Does Furina live in this region?" Lumine questions Crucabena if Furina was once living in Fontaine. "Well she was a citizen in Fontaine. But..One day after Fontaine was in a case of Vampire Virus. She wanted her people to be saved..As one day we noticed something strange about her recently.She lost her sanity. She then traveled to Liyue to recover there." Crucabena explains about Furina.

Clervie heard everything as she was saying "Lady Furina used to be an actress in Fontaine after the virus spread around Teyvat. Now that you mention it, her behavior is the same as when we first encountered the virus." Clervie said. It may seem..Strange as the hunters never get the chance to talk to Furina. Ayaka explains to Clervie that Furina is living in Liyue working as an assistant to the 77th Director, Hu Tao. Clervie thought if Furina was recovering would she be the same as her old self? Or is she the same as before? She doesn't know but decided to find out. Lumine was really curious about Furina's past..How did she be so lost with her own sanity? They are very curious with their own eyes...But however there's one problem. How are they able to tell her? They should talk to her privately without the director hearing it. After hearing the director's words they finally have answers as they had to report back to Ningguang. Hearing the hunters decided to return to Liyue they immediately asked them if they could come. Knowing Heizou can't reject them since he was friends when they were young. He sighs "Alright, you three may come. But just don't do anything stupid." He said. His old friends are very happy that they can go on an adventure with their old friend once more.

Ayaka thanks Crucabena for the answers telling her that she decided to return for a report. It was getting late, so the gang walked all the way back to Liyue to tell Ningguang about the report. Meanwhile somewhere far away from Mondstandt "Alrighty...That's our next target." The pure blooded chuckle after saying his next target was the city of Freedom. "Eh..You said this city is our next target right..?" He said to his assistant. The assistant nods "We have some work to do..." The pure-blooded said. One of the hunters behind his distance prepares to shoot him "Gotcha. I better follow to see what he is up to." They said with their focus on. As they quickly follow them behind their backs.
