Knock knock

The knocking on the door woke [____] up from old memories.
She was startled, quickly looked in the mirror and adjusted her expression before speaking out loud.

"Yes?"
"It's me, Ron."

'Ugh... Why is he looking for me at this hour...'

[____] looked at the clock, it was already half past eleven.

Even though [____] admitted that Ron was very handsome and still maintained his cool aura even at his age. But the look in his eyes when he looked at [____] every time she stood too close or touched Cale unnecessarily made her shiver.

'He looked at me like I was a pervert stalking his puppy young master... But the truth is, I haven't done anything inappropriate with Cale at all...'

Honestly, the only thing that made [____] difficult when applying to be Cale's personal maid was Ron's eyes.
It's even possible that Ron already suspected [____]'s true identity with his long experience as an assassin.

[____] suppressed a sigh and opened the door.

"Do you need something, Ron-nim...."

When she saw Ron smiling mysteriously at her, [____] quickly continued to explain.

"I swear, when the young master went out just now, it wasn't just me but also Choi Han following him. I actually didn't touch a single strand of young master Cale's hair! YOUNG MASTER IS STILL COMPLETELY PURE"
"That's good to hear, but I don't mean to talk about it."
"Oh."

[____] curse her overthinking head.

Ron sighed.

"Please take good care of the young master."

"Yes?"

Ron hesitated for a moment then answered.

"I plan to take a few days off."

Although a bit faint, [____] saw that his eyes looked somehow dangerous.

"Are you going to tell the young master?"
"...Do you think I should?"
"Young master Cale is probably still awake, give him some lemonade and tell him you're going to take a few days off... Don't you want to see his reaction, Ron-nim?"

The old butler thought for a moment and then answered.

"That's a good idea, then I'll inform the young master now."

.
.
.

Taking silent steps, the old butler thought about the past...

2 years ago, Count Deruth announced the recruitment of a personal servant for his son, young master Cale. The reason is because that 16-year-old mischievous young master was old enough to drink alcohol and from then on his bad personality turned even worse. Count Deruth needs someone to protect that young master and the people around him from the trouble he causes. If possible, even stop him from causing trouble.

Because the salary is very high, many people have applied and many have passed. But all of them had to quit their jobs after less than a month of working, some couldn't even last a week.
Cale didn't really like them, but he had no intention of beating them. He just cursed badly, spoke extremely rudely, and threw things around when he was drunk, sometimes accidentally hitting them. . Although the wound was not serious, it was enough to scare the servants.

But that wasn't the main reason why all the servants who applied to be Cale's personal servants quit their jobs.

The real reason was the assassins and the people who had a grudge against Cale. Targeting Cale was impossible so they took out their anger on his personal servants. Even though no one died and all those bastards were taken care of by Ron and Vicross, there were still many servants who were seriously injured and psychologically traumatized.

Then gradually no one applied anymore and besides Ron, the only person temporarily serving Cale was Hans, the deputy butler. Everyone had to admit that he was a good butler, but Hans was also somewhat afraid of Cale, so the position for Cale's personal servant was still vacant.

For a year and a half without anyone watching over him, Cale freely went out to cause trouble and drank until he was drunk before returning home.
Cale went out a lot, but he only went around a few pubs inside the Henituse territory, so Count Deruth began to relax his surveillance of Cale.

It was a wrong decision.

One day, Cale suddenly disappeared for a week. Although one week is not a very long time, for a naughty young master who has been pampered since childhood, let's not forget that he has got in a fight many times with many bastards, one week of being missing is enough to many unfortunate things happened to him. Plus, he people that Count Deruth sent to follow Cale were all knocked unconscious, so no one knew what happened to the young master. Even the former assassin Ron and his son, Vicross, could not find any trace.

With the disappearance of young master Cale, the Henituse territory had become a mess... well, just barely. The very evening that Count Deruth planned to send a large army to search for his eldest son, Cale walked into the house as if nothing had happened.

"I did have some trouble, but it's been resolved now so there's no need to worry, father."

That's what Cale said to calm his father.

Except for Cale suddenly disappearing and then suddenly appearing again, there was another surprise for everyone, and for Ron.

Cale brought home a young girl and called her his personal maid.

The girl was around Cale's age. Aside from her slightly pale skin, she looked quite healthy and clean, so perhaps she wasn't some unfortunate slave bought by Cale.
Ron had to admit, she was an excellent maid, doing everything from cooking to doing the laundry. She is also very polite and hardworking, loved by many people. Even Cale liked her.

And the problem starts here.

"Even Cale liked her". Cale, that scoundrel young master, who had never liked anyone or shown that he liked anyone, admitted that he did not hate that maid.

"[____], that girl, don't you find her amusing, Ron?."

That's what Cale said to the old butler.

And the problem didn't end there, since that girl arrived, there were no more assassins or mercenaries targeting Cale. All have disappeared as if eaten by the night.

Ron knew she was hiding something, but he couldn't find anything suspicious. She is a mystery and no one knows the truth until now, maybe except Cale.

When people asked about her past, that girl only said that she had been a maid for many people since she was young. Her most recent owner was a mean owner so she left and luckily met Cale so she asked to be Cale's maid.

A possible story, but not convincing enough for Ron.

However, there was one thing Ron was certain about this maid.

That is, she really likes Cale. And she didn't even try to hide it.

She often stood close to Cale, revealing her blushing face every time Cale showed off his handsome appearance. She was also the only person Cale allowed to freely enter his room or follow him whenever she wants. Although in recent weeks, she's been following Cale less often.

Anyone looking could see that there was something shady between Cale and this new maid.
Even Count Deruth knew, but since it was rare for his son to have positive feelings towards others, he just let the two of them be as they were.

But Ron is a bit different from Deruth. It was true that he turned a blind eye to the "shady" things between Cale and the maid but that didn't mean he trusted her.

After nearly 7 months of her being Cale's personal maid, Ron still did not let go of his doubts about this maid. However, this old former assassin's hunch was that this maid would not harm the puppy young master he served.

So before he left, he wanted to make sure this maid took good care of that naughty young master.
