EPISODE 8: Dark-Artist

François Dupont High School was abuzz with excitement as the annual art competition was underway. Students were eager to showcase their creative talents, each one hoping to win the coveted prize: an invitation to a special dance party. Among the participants were Marinette, Adrien, and the Smiling Critters, all hard at work on their masterpieces.

Marinette: Wow, I am loving this art competition.

Adrien: I know right, and we might be going to the dance party.

Host: Okay everyone, get working on your artistic paintings. I will be judging them when you are done.

CraftyCorn, known for her artistic flair, had poured her heart and soul into her painting. The vibrant colors and intricate details captured the beauty of Paris in a way that was both enchanting and unique.

CraftyCorn: I bet they are going to love this painting.

As the deadline approached, CraftyCorn proudly submitted her painting to the host.

CraftyCorn: Um... Mr. Host? I am done!

The host, a well-respected art critic, examined CraftyCorn's work with great interest.

Host: This is exceptional! CraftyCorn, your painting is the winner! Well done!

CraftyCorn beamed with pride, her joy evident as her friends congratulated her. However, not everyone shared in her happiness. Chloe Bourgeois, consumed with jealousy, couldn't stand to see CraftyCorn bask in the limelight.

Chloe: No, she is not going in my spotlight. My painting is the best, not hers. You know what, I'll show her.

Determined to ruin CraftyCorn's moment, Chloe waited until the crowd had dispersed. She approached CraftyCorn's easel, picked up her prized paintbrush, and snapped it in half.

CraftyCorn: NOOOOOO!

Chloe: Let's see how you paint now.

Chloe jeered, as she walked away.

Heartbroken, CraftyCorn stared at the broken brush, her eyes welling with tears. She ran away, unable to bear the pain of Chloe's cruelty.

CraftyCorn is in the yard. Then, anger appeared on her face.

CraftyCorn: Shadow Moth, wherever you are, I am ready for my revenge...

In a bathroom, Gabriel sees that his Miraculous is glowing.

Gabriel: this negative emotion is... unexpected... but this could be useful for my plan. Nooroo, Duusu, unify!

Gabriel transforms to Shadow Moth.

Shadow Moth then makes an akuma.

Shadow Moth: Fly away, my little akuma, and evilize this heartbroken artist.

As the dark energy enveloped CraftyCorn, a mask appeared on her face.

Shadow Moth: Dark-Artist, I am Shadow Moth, I am giving you the power to take your revenge. Your paintbrush will conjure 3 colours. The red allows you to unleash fire, the green allows you to release an explosion, and the blue allows you to freeze anyone in your path. All I ask for in return is Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous. Do we have a deal, Dark-Artist?

CraftyCorn: Yes, Shadow Moth.

She transformed into Dark-Artist, a villain whose magical paintbrush could conjure three powerful attacks: Fire, Explosion, and Freeze. Her eyes glowed with a dark intensity as she set out to unleash her wrath on the city.

Chloe: Ha ha ha! Are you actually soft that you got akumatized?

Dark-Artist: Well, you should be the first to experience my expert skills, Bourgeois. FREEZE ATTACK!

Dark-Artist's paintbrush unleashes a blue wave, freezing Chloe.

Dark-Artist: Ha! Who's as cold as ice now.

Adrien: Crafty, what are you doing?!?

Dark-Artist: I am not Crafty no more, I am Dark-Artist. FREEZE ATTACK!

Another blue wave unleashes, freezing Adrien.

Dark-Artist's rampage began with a trail of ice, freezing everyone in her path, including Adrien. Marinette, sensing the disturbance and seeing Adrien frozen, knew she had to act quickly.

Marinette: Adrien! There is no time to lose!

Tikki, spots on!

Transformed into Ladybug, she raced to confront Dark-Artist. But the battle was more challenging than she anticipated.

Dark-Artist: And, so you must be Ladybug.

Ladybug: You bet right I am.

Shadow Moth: Dark-Artist, take her Miraculous.

Dark-Artist: Yes, Shadow Moth. FIRE ATTACK!

Dark-Artist's fire attacks forced Ladybug to dodge rapidly, but her yoyo was flinged back by the fire attack, causing the yoyo to hit Ladybug in the head.

Ladybug: Oof!

Ladybug falls over.

Dark-Artist: Hahahahaha!

Ladybug: Don't laugh at me! I still have my own special power! Lucky charm!

Ladybug summons a chair!

Dark-Artist: Ha! Do you expect to defeat me, with a silly chair?

Ladybug throws the chair at Dark-Artist.

Dark-Artist: Ow! Hey! What is wrong with you?

Dark-Artists sends all kinds of attacks after Ladybug, causing her to run away, and hide outside a chimney.

Dark-Artist: Come out from wherever you're hiding from you little ROACH! EXPLOSION ATTACK!

Dark-Artist conjured a powerful explosion, sending Ladybug crashing into the nearby museum. Weakened but determined, Ladybug struggled to her feet, trying to reason with Dark-Artist. Ladybug now has a scar on her face.

Dark-Artist: You thought you can get away from me?

Ladybug: CraftyCorn, I know you're hurting, but this isn't the way. You need to reject the akuma and take back control.

Shadow Moth: Don't listen to her. She is trying to trick you.

But Dark-Artist, consumed by anger, wasn't ready to listen.

Dark-Artist: EXPLOSION ATTACK!

She summoned another explosion, hurling Ladybug out of a window and into a pile of gravel.

Sensing Ladybug's dire need for assistance, A guardian is seen watching the thing from a pocket dimension.

Guardian: Should we help her? She isn't feeling too well.

Bunnyx: Guess I'll have to deal with this.

Bunnyx takes the Bee Miraculous from under her umbrella.

Bunnyx: Fluff, Pollen, unify!

Bunnyx transforms to Bunny-Bee.

Ladybug now has more scars on her face, and she now has holes in her costume. Dark-Artist appears.

Dark-Artist: Now it is time to finish you off! FREEZE ATTA--

Bunny-Bee arrived just in time, launching a surprise attack from behind and paralyzing Dark-Artist with her venom. Ladybug seized the moment to capture and purify the akuma, restoring CraftyCorn to her normal self.

CraftyCorn: What happened...?

Ladybug: You were akumatized, but everything is okay now.

CraftyCorn: Thank you, Ladybug.

As the chaos settled, the host addressed the gathered students.

Host: All of your paintings are wonderful, Each one is a testament to your creativity and hard work. Almost everyone is invited to the dance party—except for Chloe, whose actions have been less than admirable.

The students cheered, the atmosphere filled with celebration and relief. Marinette, Adrien, and the Smiling Critters gathered together, their bond strengthened by their latest adventure.
