Chapter 16: U.A. Students vs The Hero Killer: Stain

Kai patrolled the dark streets of Hosu following his dad. Kai looked around remembering why they were here.

Kai had finished making lunch and Toji walked into the room having just finished a call. He puts his phone away and grabs the food Kai offers him.

(Toji): After lunch get dressed, we're going to Hosu.

Kai raised an eyebrow.

(Kai): Why are we going there?

Kai asked as he dug into his own food.

(Toji): Well I'm sure you've heard of Stain right?

Kai stopped eating and looked at his dad raising his eyebrows.

(Kai): Stain? As in the Hero Killer: Stain?

Toji nodded.

(Toji): Yep, you've probably seen his recent attack on Ingenium. He's become quite the problem and I've been requested to put my efforts into bringing him in. He's been noted to stick around in a certain area for a while before he moves on. This has been his second attack in Hosu so he's most likely still lingering around there.

Kai furrowed his eyebrows looking at his food. He pictured a classmate of his, Iida. Kai remembered their last interaction was seeing him board a train that headed for Hosu. He never thought much of it but now something felt off, was Iida going there specifically because Stain was there? Kai shook off the feeling, Iida wasn't someone like Bakugo he won't do anything stupid... Right?

Kai looked around he saw a lot more Heroes here.

(Kai): A lot of Pro's are out tonight.

Toji hummed as he gazed at them. Kai looks at all the different Heroes hoping he might be able to find the Hero Iida is interning with, so he can calm any worries he may have about Iida hunting down the Hero Killer.

(Toji): They are here to hopefully ride on the fame for taking down the Hero Killer.

Kai scoffs.

(Kai): That's stupid, he's not someone that would be easy to beat. I mean he's been at this for nearly a year. I doubt some random Pro could just capture him. 

Kai states blatantly. In Bakugo terminology these guys are D-Listers while Stain is an A-Lister, there's no way in hell that they'd have a chance to beat him. Kai perks up as he notices something.

(Kai) Thoughts: Is that Todoroki?

He saw his classmate following Endeavor. They were heading the opposite direction that Kai and Toji were going. Todoroki's expressionless face twitches as he too noticed Kai. The two passed each other sharing a glance and continued looking ahead.

A few hours had passed and so far there was no sign of the Hero Killer. Kai got thirsty and fortunately for him he had a water bottle in his shadow. Kai manipulated his shadow so a small swirling portal appeared beside him. He reached inside and pulled out a water bottle. A cool thing about his shadow storage if he stored something hot inside it will remain hot even if its left in there for hours, the same thing happens to cold items. So Kai happily enjoyed his ice cold water. Suddenly the ground shakes, Kai looked confused.

(Kai): What was that?

Kai looked at Toji who was staring at something, Kai followed his gaze and saw a fire that engulfed a building.

(Toji): Let's go.

Toji leaps onto a nearby roof and ran across the rooftops. Kai followed him but he couldn't keep up and lagged behind. Toji quickly reaches the flaming building and jumped off the roof he slides across the ground, he was quick to note the holes decorating surrounding buildings and the flames that were all over the place. He looks at the cause of the destruction. Toji sighed.
