I blindly walk towards my childhood home that I have so many memories I can't even count anymore, this home is one of the only places I feel comfortable and I am so thankful that I am back in this strange town we call 'Mystic Falls'.
As soon as I place a foot out of the cab for some weird reason I feel ten times worse than I did when I was in Denver where I was visiting some of our close relatives. Ever since my parents died I have been stuck in this town and I missed our Aunt and Uncle a lot. Coming back here i was so sure I would feel as if some perculiar weight would've been lifted off my shoulders but I feel like I'm carrying a dead weight that I can't shake. I shake my head and brush it off as its nothing and turn around and dig around in my purse for some change for Barry for the ride.
"Thanks a lot Barry, here's your tip. Drive safely" I kindly smiled and reached over to hand him his money. He didn't reply or even look at me as he snatched the money and took off down the road before I could even close the door fully. "How I haven't missed these arrogant pricks around here" I rolled my eyes and frowned to myself as I pulled my suitcase up to the porch. For some reason I was about to knock on the door not wanting to disturb Elena or Aunt Jenna but thought, fuck its my bloody house.
I swung the door open more aggressively than I intended to but who cares, I love to make an entrance.
"Honey, I'm home" I yelled loudly as I rolled my suitcase next to the front door by the bottom of the stairs. I slammed the door behind me, again more aggressively than I wanted to when I suddenly heard Jenna from the kitchen.
"Maddie? Oh my god Maddie!" she beamed her bright beautiful smile at me and run towards me to give me a massive bear hug. "I had no idea you were even coming back. Why didn't you tell me? I would of picked you up or gotten you a gift or even thrown you surprise party or I would've..."
"okay, okay I get it" I giggled "I'm sorry i would've called you to let you know but I didn't realise I was coming back so soon, and I don't need any of those things from you Aunt Jenna. I am just so glad I am back. Where's Lena & Jeremy?"
"Well Elena I am pretty sure she is at Stefan's but I am not actually one hundred percent" She frowns and looks down as if thinking of what her niece is actually doing.
"Wow guardian of the year" I lightly smack her shoulder to stop her from frowning and smile at her. She turns away and grabs my hand and leads me into our kitchen where she is cooking what looks to be some sort of pasta dish but I can't actually tell. Jenna was never a great cook as apparently all those good cooking skills went to my mother instead which my mom never let her forgot. "this smells... good" I hesitantly say as I look over the pan of pasta and some sort of sauce.
"You will be pleased to know that my cooking skills have currently been going downhill while you were gone. Which is coming at the worst time as I am trying to impress Ric." she sighs as she moves me away from the pan and to the breakfast bar out of the way. I laugh as I pick up a banana from the pot in the middle of our island. Suddenly I hear the front door open and close and I peak back on my chair to see who it is. "Jer" I scream as I quickly realise its him who has walked trough the door. I jump up from my chair and rush towards him and give him a big hug.
