chapter seven:

After talking to Katherine about her past and how i include in all this mess. I feel so overwhelmed and i daydream all the way back to my house. I didn't even realise where i was going until i got to my porch.
I take a big sigh feeling a pit in my stomach, i run my fingers through my hair tugging at the roots to hopefully release some tension but it doesn't seem to work.
My thoughts are interrupted by my phone ringing in my back pocket. I freeze as i reach and take out my phone. As soon as i see the Caller ID i feel a smile grow on my face as i press 'accept'
"I'm sorry. Who's this?" I question sarcastically as i cross one of my arms over my slim body.
"Very funny Maddie. It's your favourite vampire." I hear the voice reply to me with a chuckle
"Wow, Damon your voice has changed. Have you finally gone through puberty?" I say with fake shock.
"Oh don't tell me Damon Salvatore has overtaken me in your ranks, sweetheart" I hear a deep chuckle as i laugh to myself. I walk up to the porch and sit down facing the street. "Are you still in Mystic Falls?"
"Yep. I'm sorry. I know, i know i said i would be back but things got.. complicated to say the least." I murmur
"Don't apologise. I'm just calling to make sure you're okay and you know... not dead in a ditch." I hear him mutter
"Nope still alive and breathing." I reply
"You okay, honey? You seem... upset?" I hear him say with concern
"It's been a long day i guess. Long week more like actually" I murmur as i run my fingers through my hair as i look down at my shoes in thought.
"You want to talk about it?" he mutters
"No uh- I'm okay" I say with a deep sigh as i throw my head back looking at the dark sky that is splattered with stars. "You know what? I could do with some time away, this town is making me absolutely nuts. Mind if i come back and visit?" I say full of hope as i start to stand knowing what his answer is going to be.
"Are you kidding me? If it was up to me you would live here with me." He says with a chuckle
I laugh "Maybe one day. I'm going to leave now. See you soon." I say as head inside my house.
