Sakusa was the type of person to not like being around other people, it made him extremely uncomfortable. So he secluded himself even in the classroom, he resigned in a desk in the farthest corner away from the door where he stayed for the entire semester. but today was a little different.

Someone had taken his seat that he normally sat in so he had to sit in a seat closer to the middle of the room. Someone walked up behind him and asked. "Hey, can I sit here?" It was a voice he didn't recognize, he turned around to see who it was. When he turned around he saw the most beautiful human he had ever seen, blond hair and big strong arms.

In a strained voice he said "sure you can sit here"
He wasn't sure why he let him sit down, it was like his words were faster than his head not being able to think before he spoke, but It was almost the end of lunch anyways so he thought it would be ok.

"Sitting here by yourself, doesn't that get lonely?" the blond looked at Sakusa curiously leaning in to get a better look at him, only seeing his brown eyes and two moles because of the mask. "No, I enjoy my own company. It's always been like this." Sakusa had a scowl on his face that couldn't be seen because of his mask, backing away a little uncomfortable with the closeness between them.

"I understand. It isn't easy making friends when everyone else is acquainted with each other already." Says the person who has people all over him at all times, Sakusa thought. "So why did you come and bother me? To take pity on the loner?" Sakusa was being sarcastic like he always was. "No, I just wanted to get to know you, you seem pretty cool, and you look even cooler."

He gave him a smile, a smile he had never seen someone give him before. Most of the time people would just ignore him or stare him down like he was some kind of monster. But him, he was genuine and sincere. "What's your name?" The blond boy wanted to know more about this mysterious man who hide behind a mask. "Sakusa kiyoomi, what's your's?"

Sakusa thought that this whole thing was going to be boring or him just asking questions he's heard 1,000 times already. But he's glad that he let him sit down. "Atsumu Miya, but you can call me sumu if you want." The smile never left Atsumu's face while talking to Sakusa. "I think I'll stick to Atsumu thanks." A smile also crept onto Sakusa's face as he felt the warmth from Atsumu's kindness.

"That's fine." Atsumu was a little sad that Sakusa didn't want to call him Sumu, but then again they had just met. "I'm glad I came up and sat with you, I have a feeling we're going to be great friends." He held his hand out for Sakusa to shake it but Sakusa didn't reciprocate, they just looked at each other. Getting the hint that Sakusa didn't want to shake his hand he put it back down on the desk.

"Me too." His answer was short but just as sincere as Atsumu's was. The bell rang shortly after and Sakusa stood up to go to his next class. "I'll see you around Atsumu, it was nice talking to you." He walked out the door without another word. "You too Sakusa." Atsumu said to himself, standing up to go to his next class as well.

It was the end of the day and they didn't see each other again, it seemed like they only had that one class together and lunch. Even though they only met once Sakusa couldn't get that messy blond hair out of his head. He had never felt this way before and hadn't really had any friends to base this all off of, he was in the dark about everything.

Frustrated he walked home in silence not even turning on music (which he normally did when he walked home) He didn't get any sleep that night from a combination of doing homework and thinking about Atsumu, he woke up exhausted.

The next day at school it was exactly the same as yesterday, during lunch he came up to him again.
"Hey Sakusa! Can I sit here again?" He was excited to get to know Sakusa a little better. "Do whatever you'd like." He was reading a book not looking at the boy. Atsumu sat down in the same chair from yesterday, right across from Sakusa looking at him just as intensely as before.

"What do you have for lunch today?" Atsumu asked pulling out his lunch box. "Nothing really, just some rice and seaweed." Sakusa said quickly, continuing to read his book not looking up. "Sounds good." Atsumu said eating his lunch, Sakusa refused to look at the boy.

Atsumu had noticed that Sakusa hadn't really touched his lunch, and got a little concerned. "Are you just going to read your book the entire period? You should eat something so your not weak the rest of the day." Sakusa finally looked up from his book. "I'm fine you don't have to worry about me, I'll eat it." He went back to reading his book, seemingly ignoring what Atsumu said.

Atsumu wasn't sure what to do, he didn't want Sakusa to not eat his lunch but this was only the second time they had met up with each other, he felt like he didn't have a place to say anything. So he dropped the subject and continued to eat his own lunch.

Once Atsumu had commented on how Sakusa wasn't eating his lunch he couldn't concentrate on his book anymore. This wasn't a reoccurring problem, sometimes he just got too caught up in what he was reading during lunch and forgot to eat. To put Atsumu at ease he put down his book and pulled down his mask to eat his lunch.

Atsumu was surprised at how handsome Sakusa was. A sharp jawline, and a symmetrical face. But more importantly he was happy that he listen to his concerns about his health and how he shouldn't neglect it. "Do you want some of my pudding? My brother made it!" That's what friends did right? They shared food?

"I bet it tastes delicious Atsumu. But I'm ok, you eat it." Even though Sakusa's face was blank the way he said Atsumu's name was like music to his ears. Something he wanted to hear more of.
"So what are you doing after school?" He said with his mouth full, eating the pudding that Sakusa didn't want. "I have volleyball practice, also swallow your food before speaking." Sakusa's voice was stern, like his mother's.

"Oh sorry." He said apologetically, swallowing his food and continuing the conversation. "You play volleyball though? I also play!" Atsumu was more than thrilled to hear this, they actually had something in common, and could talk about it.

"Really? You? I've never seen you at practice."Sakusa was a little skeptical raising his eyebrow, wondering if he was telling the truth or not. "No it's true! I'm supposed to start today in the club." He was trying to convince Sakusa "What position do you play?" Sakusa was actually a little curious.

"I'm a setter, in middle school I would set for my twin brother." Atsumu was proud of that fact as he was young when he started to play volleyball.
"What position do you play Sakusa?" His eyes were bright as he looked at Sakusa expectingly.
"I'm a wing spiker." Sakusa was confused as to why Atsumu was so excited about volleyball, after all it's just a silly sport. "Really? So I'll be setting for you? Awesome!" Atsumu was just excited to have something in common with someone.

"Yeah, but you'll also be setting for everyone else on the team too." Sakusa looked away from Atsumu, a blush on his face from the embarrassment. "I know but I wanna set for you." He looked at him with sad eyes. "Are you any good? I don't want a bad set being set to me." Sakusa said in a playful tone trying to joke around with Atsumu.

"Of course I'm good! How do you think I got into this school!" Atsumu laughed at himself. "I guess we'll just have to see about that in practice later Atsumu." There it was again, his name being said by Sakusa. "You won't know what hit you Sakusa." Unfortunately the bell rang ending the conversation. Both of them stood up and said their see you laters. "See you in practice later." Sakusa waved as he walked out the door.

"I can't wait Sakusa." It seemed like this was going to be a reoccurring theme between the two, Sakusa leaving before Atsumu can properly say goodbye. Atsumu didn't care though, he was just happy he actually had a genuine friendship now, and not fake people just hanging around him because he was popular.
