**Flashback :**
A boy was called into the principal's office. He stepped in, looking expressionless.
"You called me, sir?" the boy asked.
"Yes, Sunghoon-ah," the principal began, his tone serious.
"A staff member reported seeing someone unfamiliar on the campus. They weren't sure who it was, so I need you to check the empty corridors once the bell rings. I'm sure the person will be there."
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. "Then why didn’t the staff catch them?"
The principal sighed, adjusting his glasses. "The staff wasn’t sure, and they didn’t want to make a scene. That’s why I’m asking you to handle it. But, Sunghoon—don’t do anything stupid, alright? Just find the person and bring them to me."
Sunghoon shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
The principal gave him a stern look. "Seriously, Sunghoon. I’m asking you to be careful. No heroics. Just find the person and bring them to me. Understood?"
Sunghoon rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I heard you the first time."
The principal sighed in exasperation but couldn’t help but chuckle at Sunghoon’s typical attitude. "I know it’s your second year here, but you're still prone to making things more complicated than they need to be. Just do what I said, alright?"
"Sure, sure," Sunghoon replied, his tone dismissive as he turned to leave.
Sunghoon went to the sports room and grabbed a baseball bat, even though he had been told not to do anything "stupid." But, well... this was Sunghoon. He grabbed the bat and waited for the bell to ring. He'd already had lunch with his brother, and the bell was about to sound.
**Ring, ring, ring.**
The bell rang. Sunghoon started searching the corridors, eyes scanning every corner. After about five minutes, he spotted a boy—slightly shorter than him—standing down the hall. Without thinking, Sunghoon swung the bat and hit him in the head. Blood began trickling down the boy's forehead.
Sunghoon’s eyes widened when he saw the university ID card hanging around the boy's neck.
"Oh, fuck... are you okay?" Sunghoon asked, his tone suddenly more serious, panic creeping into his voice.
---
Sunghoon panicked, his hands trembling as he lightly tapped the boy's cheek, trying to wake him up. But the boy remained unresponsive, his face pale, and blood trickling down from the gash on his head. Sunghoon's heart raced in his chest as he stared at the boy for a little too long, almost frozen in place. The cold realization hit him, but he quickly snapped out of it, shaking his head as if to clear the fog.
He glanced down at the boy’s ID card, the name on it catching his eye: "Kim Sunoo".
Sunghoon's breath hitched."Kim Sunoo"—he didn’t recognize the name, but something about the boy’s face... it stirred something in him, though he couldn’t quite place it. Panic surged through him again. He couldn’t just leave him like this.
Without thinking, Sunghoon pulled out his handkerchief, his fingers moving quickly as he tied it around Sunoo's head to stop the bleeding. He gently laid Sunoo against the wall, making sure his position was as comfortable as possible, though it didn't feel right. It wasn’t right.
