Chuuya thinks he can't live if things carry on like this.

Acting like Dazai is a different person is so hard for him. He's been so distant towards him and it's so suffocating. Imagine your best friend leaving, now they come back acting like nothing happened, yet you're both so distant. It all feels forced, and Chuuya finds it all ridiculous. So for now, he'll play along with this game Dazai had started.

He'll act like absolutely nothing happened, he'll act like they didn't spend 3 years apart, he'll act like the brunette still goes to his house daily, he'll act exactly how he was 3 years ago. Why? Because nothing is wrong. If Dazai was going to act like that, Chuuya is gonna make him think that.

'I feel like a big piece of shit.' Chuuya thought to himself as threw a book of poetry to the side, slowly sinking in his mattress out of despair. 'This just feels.. wrong. I'm not a manipulative bastard like him, so why should I do this?' He groaned, feeling reluctant to stand up. It was 10am, he should've had breakfast an hour ago. Yet here he was, thinking hard, a bit too hard, about Dazai. This whole situation is ridiculous really. They're nearly grownups, they're 17, they should be able to handle this like adults, but silly little Chuuya and Dazai can't, unfortunately. (Maybe that's why they barely got along)

He slowly sat up, the guilt and frustration putting some weight on his body and mind, making it difficult for him to move. (If he could stay buried in his mattress forever, then he would)

But what got him moving was the subtle ding from his phone. When he grabbed his phone and checked his notifications, he saw a text from an unknown number, yet with a very familiar typing style.

From [Unknown number] 10:05 am

Hey chibi~ do you mind me coming over? My uncle will be cleaning the house and replacing some furniture, unfortunately I'm not needed, for he said I was a burden with a lazy ass, so I thought I could stay at yours for a while~

Chuuya aggressively blinked his eyes over and over again, thinking he was half asleep and he's just seeing things. But he wasn't. 'Oh gods, why now of all days?' Chuuya plopped back down on his bed, groaning and kicking his feet, who then threw his pillow across the room after. But... if he wants to play along , then he'll have to let Dazai in his house. 'Well, shit. Here goes nothing. He quickly added Dazai's number to his contacts and changed his contact name.

To [Stinky Bandaged Bastard] 10:07 am

Hi Dazai, this you right? Anyways, don't worry about it. You can come over while Mori does his thing. Paul would definitely mind but he's at Rimbaud's right now, so that doesn't really matter.

Hesitant to press send, he does it anyway. Immediately facing his phone screen down. He sighed, this is the shittiest thing he's ever done in his life.

Meanwhile, Dazai Osamu was quite delighted that the redhead replied to his text. And much to his surprise, let him come over. He felt butterflies in his stomach as he gleefully went down the stairs, "Did something good happen?" His uncle, Mori Ougai, asked as he picked up a vacuum. Dazai hummed a little tune, heading towards the kitchen bar and nodded, "Mhm, Chuuya agreed for me to stay at his place while you clean." He drummed his fingers on the bar top, while his free hand grabbed a mug.

"He did? What about Verlaine?" Mori raised an eyebrow, questioning him. Dazai clicked his tongue, fuck did he forget about Verlaine. But he'll trust Chuuya and take his word for it that he isn't home, thank you dear lady luck. "Chuuya said he's out at the moment."
