Jack and I laid down in metal chairs. The ones that you would lie in at the dentist. It was not very comfortable, but it'll have to do for now.

I'm a little stressed, this is a trusting simulation. I do not trust people very quickly. Mr. Gillespie's assistant injected some kind of serum into our necks. The last I saw was Jack next to me, before my eyes closed.

I woke up in a field. It was big; half open, half trees. I looked up to the trees and saw something in it. I walked forwards it, but then fire suddenly raised from the ground. The fire circled myself and Jack, who by now stood up as well. The width of the circle was four meters.
''Jack, can you see what's up there?'' I asked him. I hope his eyesight is better than mine.
He squinted and walked to the edge of the 'ring of fire' that I just named it. His hand shielded his eyes from the sun.

''I think it's a bucket,'' he said. A bucket? With what? Water? Sand? I hope either of the two.
''You think it has water? or sand?'' I asked him as I took a deep breath. The fire is taking away the oxygen within the circle. Soon we won't be able to breath.

''I hope. How are we going to get it?'' He asked, coughing. The fire comes up to my waist. With Jack to hips. Maybe we can jump over.
''Cup your hands,'' I said. He did what I told him and I put my foot in his hands.

''I'm going to try to jump over, on three.'' I told him. I put my hands on his shoulders. Jack looked me in the eyes as we counted down.
''One,''

''Two,''

''Three.'' We both put every ounce of strength into this. I did a back flip over the fire. Yes, that was actually necessary, I can't exactly jump over Jack's head. So I had to go backwards. And a flip was the best way to do it.

I ran to the tree and got the bucket. There was water in it. I sighed from relief and carefully carried the bucket to 'the ring of fire' and dropped it on the fire. I small part went out and Jack jumped over.

Now we were both able to breath again. After catching our breath, we found ourselves in the woods. I was tied to a tree branch with my hands above me.

The rope slowly lowered me, below me was a pit with lava. Yes, actual lava. I am already getting hot.

Jack is at least a 100 meters away from me. [100 meters = 0.06 miles = 328 feet] He has a few obstacles he has to go through, I imagine.
I looked down to the lava pit. Going at this speed, with the height, I'd say I have about two minutes until I get cooked. ''Jack! You have two minutes!'' I screamed at him. I hope he heard me.

"I'm coming!" He yelled as he started running. He had to fight with two men, calling themselves Brazilian tree-fighters. I didn't notice what was after that, I was a bit busy worrying about the lava. I could feel the heat. Pulling my legs up would give me some extra seconds, but I won't be able to do that for long. Even if I turn upside down, my hands would be deep-fried. Wait! Upside down!

If I can get my hands close enough to the lava(whilst being upside down), maybe it will burn off the ropes! I just hope it works. And I hope I can keep myself upside down for that long. I started swinging my legs, back and forth. Clutching the rope with my hands, I got the strength to pull my feet over my head and twist my legs around the rope. I just pray I can stay like this. I feel the blood rising to my head. Jack is still occupied with the Brazilian tree-fighters. A few seconds left.

Come on! Come on! One inch more....

I got it! I held on to the rope I was hanging from and started swinging. But right before I could jump away from the lava, Jack came and pushed me away. More like he threw us ten foot away.

''Ow. Why did you do that? I had it perfectly under control,'' I told him as I got up.

''A thank you would suffice,'' he replied. I don't like to admit it, but he did save my life. I don't think I would've made it. But he doesn't need to know that.

A big flash came, bringing me and Jack to a.. minefield. Jack was in the field, a blindfold on and his hands tied behind his back. I was at the end of the minefield, where Jack had to go. I tried to step in the minefield, but there was some kind of invisible barrier. I had to guide him through. We both have an earpiece.

''Jack, do not move. You're in a minefield. I need to get you through,'' I told him. Next to me was a screen where I could see the field from above. It was green and divided in squares. Every red dot was a mine, the purple dot was Jack.

''Okay Jack. I am going to guide you through this. Listen closely to my voice. Take a small step to your left,'' as I told him that, I saw the purple dot move.

''How do you know where I need to step?'' Jack asked.

''I have a screen next to me, I can see you and every mine,'' I said.

''Three steps forward, two left, five forward, three right, one forward,'' I slowly guided him through. After what seemed an eternity of biting my lip and worrying if he would step on a mine, Jack was close to the end.

''Jack the next part is very tricky. There's a whole row of mines in front of you. You can't go around. I need you to step over them.'' I bit my lip as he slowly stepped over it.

''You're close Jack. Very close. Now, place your left foot North-West and your right foot next to it. Then take a small step to the right," I told him. He didn't listen close enough and put his left foot too far to the right. He stepped on a mine.

So close.

I guess something had to go wrong. "Kim, is that-"

"Yes." I interrupted.

"Stay there, I'm coming for you," I told him. I tried every part of the barrier. No way to get through. I found a rock and tried to throw it in, but that didn't work.

I went to the map. Maybe I can move the mines? I tried, and it actually worked! In front of Jack, I cleared all the mines.

"Jack, I cleared the path for you. You need to let go of that mine soon. When you do, sprint forward as fast as you can," I told him.

"You cannot be serious. I will die!" He said.

"I need you to trust me. Everything will be fine," I tried to calm him. But I'm actually trying to calm myself down.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked.

I hesitated. "Yes. I am. On three, you let go and run for your life," I told him.
"One,"

"Two,"

"Three!" Jack ran as fast as he could. The mine was beeping really fast. Nothing happened.
Jack reached me. I pulled off his blindfold and untied his hands.

"I didn't hear anything explode."

"Me neither," I said. Then, we woke up. Back in the real world.

"Why didn't the mine explode?" Jack asked Mr. Gillespie.

"They weren't real mines. Everything was fake. The fire, the lava, everything," Mr. Gillespie said.

"The lack of oxygen and the heat from the lava tells me otherwise," I muttered
