"You're completely sure, no doubt?"

"I'm positive"

I stare bewildered at my partner overthinking everything that he had told me seconds before, acknowledging the whole scenario, zoning in on all the details that he had been forced to share after my continuous pleading

After a few quick moments, I smiled, earning an agape stare from Jack.

"So you're saying that you saw Johnson hand over his plan, the one that we've been trying to figure out out for several weeks, to someone who is to us none less than a stranger?" When he nodded, my grin widened.

It wasn't completely good news, but just the fact that the plan was possibly out of Johnson's hands was enough hope for me to smile.

"But, even if he had handed over the file, we know nothing about the other man. He could be a neanderthal in the brain as well as the world's greatest mind. The latter is most likely the solution, considering the fact that I doubt Mr. J would just hand it over to someone who wasn't capable of keeping it safe"

Later that day we analyzed and over analyzed the possible scenarios and the consequences of a wrong move, settling on the fact that we might as check if Milton would be able to do something.

"So you don't have a name, an address, and not even a few physical aspects of the guy, and you expect me to be able to hack him? He could be anyone, I might as well just go out and play soccer, it's more probable I do that than hack a random man in Seattle" Milton's voice only aggravated the situation as Jack and I swiveled across the room.

"Could you ask Mr. Gillespie? Or even Ms. Dawson, she's great at identifying people in various cities and has plenty of connections."

"You mean Jessica? She was recently sent on a mission abroad, Italy I think" Milton sighed exasperatedly, trying to figure out what to do.

"I'm sure she'll appreciate the food..." I muttered under my breath and threw myself on the bed in exhaustion.

"Maybe there's security cameras in the area? Do you think you could hack one of those and go back to last night"

"True, very true" Milton agreed and nodded, the hologram showing his fingers quickly typing on the keyboard like a pianist and his concentrated face stared off at the screen.

"Why does everyone and everything have a firewall suddenly? It's not going to stop professional hackers like myself, but just irritates them" The man on the other side of the screen complained, and after a few last clicking sounds his face brightened. "I'm in, let me set it back and...here!" He twisted the expensive and prestigious computer screen towards the hologram camera to give us a full view of what was occurring.

Jack was extremely concentrated as we saw the shadow of various men, but nothing that would help us identify them.

Soon the shadows walked away into the darkness and I let out a frustrated sigh which was nothing compared to Jack's growl.

"Nothing?" Milton questioned.

I nodded softly and looked down. The room was quiet for a few minutes, the only sound being the fast and determined taps on the keyboard caused by Milton, but soon enough a light switch flickered in my head and I jumped off of the leather couch I had seated myself in and let out a shriek of joy that was very out of character for me.

"Mr. Gillespie had order us to attach a night vision camera below our window that mixed itself with the building for evidence, proof and possible emergencies. Maybe that camera filmed the small gathering that occurred yesterday?" I smiled hopefully and ran towards the small, almost inexistent balcony and threw myself on the railing, staggering on some heaps of gadgets and clothes in the meantime.

I pushed my body forward and grasped the railing tightly, my buckles turning white as I dipped down and reached for the camera, succeeding.

I jogged back to where I was initially standing and swiftly laid the camera on the studio desk, attaching it to the computer to see the footage.

At first it was all black, a small, dim light illuminating , but later a sort of flash illuminated the screen and everything was more recognizable.

Only Mr. Johnson's profile was visible, shaking his head disdainfully as he lectured who I assume we're the men who we had encountered hours before.

I saw the passing silhouette of three men and sighed, about to give up.

That is, when a dark man appeared, looking all over the place and then glancing at the file in his hands, his gaze lingering.

He then raised his head momentarily to see if there were people in the area, not concerned about the cameras because he knew that he was hidden by each one in the dark alley.

Apart from this one.

In that moment I paused the clip and analyzed his figure and face, raising the brightness and explaining every noticeable detail to Milton as he typed away.

Maybe it was due to the dim light, or maybe my excitement had made me black out somehow, or maybe just because I wasn't concentrating enough on the image that I was describing and that we had sent to Milton's massive computers, but the answer that we got was utterly unexpected.

Milton laid back on the chair and sighed in relief as he finished typing, but as he scanned the picture again and then looked at the results confirming his fear, he stared straight at me, bewildered, before shaking his head.

"The unidentified figure has been, well, identified" Milton pronounced in his most formal voice, putting on a blank expression.

"And...?"

"Agent Brody Miller" he breathed, and then everything after was blocked out, the world around me disappearing.
