Y/n didn't wait for permission this time.
Grim was still mid-meltdown—flailing, snapping, threatening to "burn everything down"—when she simply reached out, grabbed him by the scruff of his bow tie, and lifted him.
Not roughly.
Not gently either.
Just... efficiently.
Like picking up a loud, inconvenient object that needed relocating.
"...Hey—HEY!! PUT ME DOWN!!"
Grim kicked midair.
"MYAH?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Y/n held him at arm's length.
Then the boy standing before them—red hair, rigid posture, authority like a guillotine waiting for a reason.
"...Interesting," she murmured.
Grim squirmed harder.
"LET ME GO, YOU WEIRD HUMAN—!"
The red-haired boy's gaze snapped sharp.
Riddle: "Off With Your Head!"
The air tightened.
Y/n blinked once.
Grim froze mid-kick.
"...That seems excessive," Y/n said calmly.
Grim: "MYAH?!"
Riddle stepped forward, completely unyielding.
Riddle: "The Queen of Hearts' Rule 23: One must never bring a cat to a formal affair. Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate these premises immediately."
Y/n looked at him.
Then at Grim.
Then back at him.
Y/n: "...He is not mine."
Grim immediately snapped.
Grim: "BUT I AIN'T A CAT EITHER! DON'T TRY TO COLLAR ME— I'LL BURN IT RIGHT OFF! HUH...? WH-WHAT GIVES?! MY FIRE AIN'T WORKIN'!"
Y/n raised the collar slightly with two fingers.
"...Magical suppression device," she noted.
Riddle's expression didn't change.
Riddle: "Until I deign to remove that collar, you won't be using any magic. You're naught but a pet cat now."
Grim went absolutely feral.
Grim: "M-MEOWHAT?! I AIN'T NOBODY'S PET—NOTH—"
Riddle: "Oh, you've nothing to worry about there. I certainly have no interest in having you as a pet. The collar will disappear once you're removed from campus."
Azul clapped lightly from the side, delighted.
Azul: "Ha-HA! Good show as always, Riddle. Your Signature Spell locks down any magic. It's quite handy. I've just GOT to have it—ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it."
Y/n's gaze flicked briefly to Azul.
"...Noted," she said again, like she was compiling a mental dossier labeled 'people who should not be trusted near artifacts.'
Crowley suddenly stepped in, voice rising with offended grandeur.
Crowley: "Was I not clear that you are expected to take responsibility for your familiar? Now discipline your—"
He stopped.
Looked at Y/n properly.
"...What's that? It isn't yours?"
