Aruhi

The moment I stepped out of the interview room, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. The interview had gone far better than I had expected. My answers were clear and confident, and I could tell from the interviewers' expressions that they were impressed. I couldn't wait to share the news with Rudraksh.

I quickly found a quiet corner and pulled out my phone. My fingers trembled slightly as I dialled his number, the anticipation and excitement bubbling within me.

"Hi Rooh," his deep voice greeted me, making my heart flutter as always.

"Rana sa!" I exclaimed, unable to contain my excitement. "I got the job! They just told me—I officially got it!"

"That's amazing, Aruhi!" he replied, pride evident in his tone. "I never had any doubt. You're incredible."

His words filled me with warmth, and I could almost feel his reassuring presence beside me. "Thank you," I said softly, my voice filled with emotion. "Your support really helped."

"I'm always here for you," he said. "But I'm so proud of you for doing this on your own. You deserve every bit of this success."

I smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment and happiness that I wished I could share with him in person. Before I could say more, he continued, "Acha suniye, I have some news too."

"Haan ji?" I asked, curious and a little nervous about what he was going to say.

"Maa wants to call you and your family over tomorrow to fix shaadi ki date," he said casually as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

I felt my cheeks heat up, and I shyly hummed in response, not trusting myself to speak without my voice betraying my excitement.

He chuckled, sensing my shyness. "Are you blushing, Rooh?"

"N-no!" I stammered, knowing full well that I was.

"I wish I could see it," he said, his voice warm and affectionate. "You know, you're even more beautiful when you're flustered."

I rolled my eyes, but my smile was unstoppable. "You're impossible, Rana sa."  I said, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably.

"Only for you, Rooh," he replied, his voice tender, "But you love it," he replied smoothly.

I sighed, giving in to the warmth spreading through my chest. "Yes, I do."

"Good," he said. "Now go celebrate your successful interview with your family. I will be waiting to see you tomorrow."

"Ji" I said, feeling a thrill of anticipation at the thought. "And thank you, Rana sa. For everything."

"Always," he said softly. "I'll talk to you soon."

With a final goodbye, I ended the call, my heart overflowing with joy and excitement. As I made my way back to my family, I couldn't help but smile.

The next day dawned bright and early, sunlight filtering through my bedroom window and casting a warm glow across the room. I stretched and yawned, feeling a rush of excitement and nervousness for the day ahead. Today was the day our families would come together at the Shekhawat Palace to fix the date for our wedding. The thought filled me with a mixture of joy and anticipation.

I quickly got out of bed and began my morning routine. The familiar tasks of brushing my teeth, washing my face, and combing my hair provided a welcome sense of normalcy amidst the whirlwind of emotions. As I stood in front of my wardrobe, I carefully selected a stunning sage green Indian suit. The fabric was soft and elegant, adorned with delicate embroidery that shimmered in the morning light. I paired it with matching bangles, a pair of dainty earrings, and a simple pendant.
