Aruhi

A few days had passed since that unforgettable evening with Rudraksh. Each morning and evening, his phone calls had become a cherished routine. We talked about everything and nothing—our days, our dreams, and sometimes just random musings. Our conversations flowed effortlessly, and I found myself getting closer to him with each passing day. His siblings and cousins, especially Kiara, had also welcomed me warmly into their fold, making me feel like a part of their family.

It was Monday morning, and I was getting ready for an important interview at the hospital. Working there had always been my dream, and the opportunity was finally here. But as the time for the interview approached, I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me.

I stood in front of the mirror, scrutinizing my reflection as I adjusted my outfit one last time. I was wearing beige pants that fitted perfectly, paired with a blush pink shirt that gave me a subtle yet professional look. The soft color of the shirt complemented my skin tone, and the delicate pearl earrings I had chosen added a touch of elegance. Around my wrist was a simple gold bracelet, a gift from my mother for good luck. I took a deep breath, hoping that my appearance would reflect the confidence I was trying to muster.

My phone rang, breaking the silence of the room and making my heart skip a beat when I saw Rudraksh's name on the screen. I answered immediately, feeling a surge of comfort just at the sight of his name.

"Good morning Rana sa" I greeted, trying to keep my voice steady despite the nervous flutter in my stomach.

"Good morning, Aruhi," he replied, his deep voice instantly calming my nerves. "Are you ready for your big day?"

"Almost," I said, biting my lip as I glanced back at the mirror. "Lekin bohot nervous hoon, What if I mess up?"

"Nervous? Rooh, jitna hum aapko jaante hai, you're one of the most capable people I've ever met," he said, his tone firm and reassuring. "Aap yeh kar sakti hai. Just be yourself, and they'll see how amazing you are."

I took a deep breath, his words giving me the confidence I needed. "Thank you, Rana sa. Your support means a lot."

"Always," he replied. "Aur yaad rakhna, hum aapke saath hain, even if not physically."

His words made me smile. "You're right. Main apna best dungi."

"That's my girl," he said proudly, his words sending a rush of warmth through me, making my heart flutter with excitement. His girl—those two simple words filled me with a sense of belonging and joy. "Now go and ace that interview. Main intezaar kar raha hoon tumhare call ka to hear all about it."

"I will," I promised, feeling a surge of determination. "Thank you, Rana sa,"

With a final goodbye, I ended the call, feeling a surge of confidence coursing through me. Rudraksh's reassuring words had worked wonders, filling me with determination to ace the interview. I grabbed my bag, taking one last glance in the mirror to ensure everything was in place. Satisfied with my appearance, I made my way downstairs.

As I descended,  mumma greeted me with her 'dahi cheeni' , a traditional ritual for good luck before important events. Mumma insisted I have a spoonful before heading out, and with a smile, I obliged, feeling her love and blessings enveloping me.

With my family's well-wishes echoing in my ears, I stepped out into the crisp morning air, a sense of anticipation building within me.

I sat in the car, Anirudh and Siddharth Bhaiya insisted on driving me to the hospital.

As the familiar sight of the hospital came into view, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the challenge ahead.
