Tanjiro's eyes shone at Luffy's heroic story about how Shanks inspired him to be the person he is right now. Zenitsu had a disbelief face as he was bewildered at why he wanted to get himself into danger. Nezuko, Kanao, and Jimbei just enjoyed the story, being the radio listener to the male.
Ace could only sigh as he had already heard the same things over and over again when he was young, so he decided to sit at the edge of the small island while looking at the sea before his thought slowly drifted into his last conversation with his father figure, Whitebeard. He gritted his teeth in frustration, forcing himself not to shed tears right now, especially in front of his little brother and his friends, he doesn't want people to see him as a pathetic and weak person.
Inosuke on the other hand, went to continue bugging the captain of the Heart Pirates because he found him too irritatingly cool not to challenge him into a fight which the other male just sighed tiredly at him and completely ignored him.
"Fight me! Fight me! Fight me!" The boar male chanted, putting both fits up.
"No!" Law sternly replied, storming far away from the annoying guy.
Bepo got in between his captain and the other male. "Get away from my captain!"
Inosuke growled at him. "Shut up, weakling!"
Hearing that, the bear was taken aback by this as he let out a horror gasp before sulking "I'm sorry." while the crewmate commented "So weak!"
Back with the rest... "He must be a great guy!" The burgundy-haired male exclaimed and scooped closer to him before his face brightened in a hopeful way. "That means Nee-san is in a good hand, right?!"
"Shihihihi! Don't worry about that!" Luffy replied enthusiastically and gave them a thumbs-up with his signature D toothy grin.
"Yokatta..." Both of Kamado's siblings hushed out and right after that, Tanjiro suddenly looked at Ace from the corner of his eyes when he could smell sad emotion lingering around the black-haired male and decided not to pry into his business for now as he knew the male was in a state of the grief.
A hand shot up in the air attached to Zenitsu's. "I wanna ask something. If you're a captain, then why are you alone?"
That question made the straw hat male furrow his brow and immediately yell out. "I'm not alone!"
The blond-haired male instantly dropped a sweat at him. 'Bro, I'm just asking.'
Luffy then continued while counting with his fingers each time he said his friends' names "I still have my friends... Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook. They are my friends!"
"I see." Jimbei nodded his head with a smile.
"I have to meet them on the ship. I gotta go. It took a while but... I know that they're waiting for me." Luffy finished and smiled to himself in determination before putting the Straw hat on his head.
