25 – The Big Meeting 💻

Mike pulled his car to a stop in his parking spot. And frowned as he remembered something. "How do you get to and fro the studio?"

"A nifty thing known as ride share apps; Bolt, Uber, InDrive. Choose your pick."

"Hmm," He got out of the car and opened the door for her. She grabbed her bag and stepped out.

"Thanks," she reached up to pat his cheek and he turned his lips into her palm. She was so shocked that she stepped back and almost fell into the car. He smirked.

She was trapped between him and the car door, he would have used this as his chance to steal a kiss but they had a meeting they were officially late for. So he grabbed her waist and moved back with her still in his arms. He felt like they were about to dance. All he needed was music or privacy, he glared at his driver who appeared out of thin air.

"Welcome sir," his driver called out from the side. Mike closed the door and threw the key at his driver.

"Grab everything in the boot and put it in my office." He turned with Dunni, grabbed her hand and walked into the elevator. "How do you get home?"

"The girls come over to pick me up if they can or I use a nifty thing called—"

He growled at her. "You are testing my patience, Miss Davies,"

She smiled and the elevator started its ascent to the executive floor. "Mr. Collins—"

"Yeah yeah. Whatever," he said not letting her finish. "Where is your jewellery?"

"Oops," she pulled out the box that barely fit into her bag and flipped it open.

"Let me," he said and grabbed the necklace. It was another purple piece. He walked behind her and fastened it, while she wore her earrings. He caught their reflection in the glossy surface of the elevator and smiled at the intimate picture they made.

Mine! his mind thundered. Dunni was his. She even looked like his. Today, they were accidentally matching—she in a white and black dress and he in a black suit and white shirt. He dropped his hands and moved back as she did the bracelet.

Once the doors opened, he grabbed the box and walked out before her. He waited for her to move out and let her walk in front of him. His gaze was immediately drawn to her backside, and he didn't even pretend that he was looking elsewhere.

He was never glad that the corridors of the executive floor were always empty until today. He followed her into her office and stopped at the door. He stretched out the box. "This belongs to you,"

"Thanks," she smiled and moved back. He nodded and walked away before he did something crazy.

Fifteen steps later, he nodded at Emerald and she smirked at him. He laughed, sure that the news of his rendezvous with Dunni had chartered international airways and reached Mom and Dad.

Surprisingly, he didn't mind as much. He had enjoyed his day with Dunni extremely. "Let me know when the meeting starts and remind Miss Davies as well."

Emerald nodded. "Yes sir,"

He nodded and walked into his office. He hadn't spent more than ten minutes in this room today. Immediately he arrived at work, he had seen Dunni's mail sending her regrets.

He needed his doze of vitamin Dunni and he only got his fill on Fridays. So, he called Matilda, her PA, and demanded the details. He must have scared the girl a little but he didn't care. He needed to know how bad this crisis was.

Was anyone injured? Was Dunni okay?

Matilda knew nothing about the crisis, she claimed that Dunni had only recently informed her that she would be standing in for her. He ended the call, grabbed his car keys and waltzed out of his office. He told Emes to hold his calls and push back his meetings.
