Description: The emotions attempt pulling an all-nighter. All right, normal enough. But what none of them seem to realize is just what can all go down in eight hours.

"Alright, who's ready to do this?" Joy slid down the railing, already in her pajamas. "We're pulling an all-nighter, and we're actually gonna make it this time!"

"Good luck to us," Disgust shrugged. "Have we ever actually managed to stay up all night?"

Joy thought about it for a moment. It was true; Riley may have been able to pull it off all night (she had several times), but in her head, there was always at least one of them who never made it. Too often, none of them made it. Sadness was usually the first one to fall asleep out of the five, and while Joy and Anger went on the longest (sometimes they even bet on who could stay up longer), both of them had fallen asleep before it was officially an all-nighter.

"Well, I've got a good feeling about this one," Joy insisted.

"You say that every time," Disgust pointed out.

"Okay, but we're actually gonna do it this time," Joy gestured to the large bag she'd brought with her. "This has basically every single game that we've ever played. Even the video games. And then we can raid the kitchen for midnight snacks, watch old dreams..."

"Boring," Anger rolled his eyes. "Why don't we do interesting stuff like Truth or Dare, or Spin the Bottle?"

Joy shot him a look.

"Fine, we'll dump the last one," Anger shrugged. "But we gotta do something to keep all five of us up at night. Especially Sadness."

Sadness simply gave a nod, knowing that out of the five of them, she was the one most likely to sleep at any given opportunity.

"Alright, what's the game plan?" Fear asked. "Am I gonna need to break out the coffee maker?"

"Most likely," Sadness shrugged.

"Come on, guys, we can do this!" Joy tried to encourage her fellow emotions. "We will be awake when Riley goes to sleep, and we will still be awake when she gets up in the morning! Who's with me?"

"Sure, why not?" Fear said. "Considering we all agreed to this during breakfast."

"Exactly; you're locked in now," Joy giggled.

"Fine, but whoever falls asleep first will personally get a marker makeover from me," Anger warned.

"Is that why you were focused on getting new Sharpies once Joy announced we were attempting another all-nighter?" Disgust turned to him.

"What? Just trying to help motivate everyone," he shrugged.

They all saw the general lighting of Riley's mind beginning to dim. Turning to the view screen, they saw it close shut.

"And Riley has officially fallen asleep!" Joy declared, noticing that it was still dark. "And it's a dreamless night! Even better!"

None of them said anything for a moment.

"So... now what?" Fear eventually asked, breaking the silence by asking the question they were all hoping to avoid being the one to ask.

Ten minutes later, and Joy was sitting around the other emotions, looking as smug as ever. It may have been Anger's idea to play poker, but so far she'd won a good handful of loose change.

"Anyone else dare challenge the queen of card games?" she laughed.

"Oh, what's the point?" Fear dropped his hand. "Somehow you magically win every time."
