the past few that were spent in manchester went by quicker than fern, and even charles had hoped, although fern showed him as much of her hometown as she possibly could, she still felt like there was still a lot that she could've show him or hold him about but she'd need more than a few days to do that.
charles had thoroughly enjoyed spending time with fern and her family, the parker's becoming like a second family to him; and as much as he loved to be in manchester, seeing all of the sights that fern loved, he was ready to come back home.
"i can't wait to just lie down and sleep." fern murmured to an also tired charles, a yawn leaving her mouth as she drove past the sign that welcomed into surrey.
"you and me both." charles lazily looked over to the woman driving, placing his hand on her upper thigh as he caressed it slightly with his thumb. "it won't be long till we can actually do that."
