Chapter.2

Lilith was extremely worried about her sister, as she hasn't answered her phone or contacted her for 4 days now. She was sitting at her desk, tapping her pencil on her desk out of frustration. Not only was she worried for her sister, but she also had a lot of work to do. She was currently working on an abuse case; the husband has been beating his wife for 4 years now. The wife finally had enough courage to call the police on him.

Suddenly, Lilith heard a knock, and then the door opened. She put her pencil down and turned around in her chair. She saw Darius standing in the door frame, arms crossed, looking at her with a worried yet amused face.

"What do you want?" Lilith growled.

"Wow, is this how you greet your best friend?" Darius said it dramatically, placing a hand on his chest, acting hurt.

"Haha, very funny. Now what do you want?" Lilith said it sarcasticly before asking him the same question again.

"What are you up to?" Darius questioned as he uncrossed his arms and strated towards Lilith's desk.

"An abuse case." Lilith explained as she rolled her eyes, as she was quickly getting annoyed with Darius.

"Damn, now what's up with you?" He asked, using his hand to lean on the desk. He had a worried expression on his face now.

Lilith sighed before leaning in her chair, letting herself relax. She began explaining to Darius exactly what was going on with Eda.

"Well, Edalyn hasn't contacted me for 4 days now, and I'm very worried about her. She could be hurting herself right now without me knowing. We usually meet every 1-2 days, and if one of us can't make it, we call instead. But now she doesn't answer both my texts and calls." Lilith explained that, as she finally let herself breathe, she had actually explained all that in one breath.

"First of all, damn, you actually said all that in one breath? I'm impressed." Darius exclaimed.

"That's not the point!" Lilith said she was getting even more frustrated now.

"Ok-calm down. Why don't you just go check up on her then?"

"You actually think I haven't thought of that ? I'm really not that dumb, you know. Besides, I have WAY too much work right now." Lilith grunted.

"Hey," Darius called out, making Lilith turn to look at him. "How about I take over for a bit ? Just until you make sure your sister is okay ?" He offered with a soft smile.

Lilith looked at him, staring straight into his soul. He felt chills as he started back. The atmosphere quickly got unconfortable for Darius as Lilith continued to stare at him.

"Okay, you're telling the truth. Thank you; I'll take you up on that offer." Lilith said as she stood up, took her bag and phone, and went outside.

As soon as Lilith was out of sight, Darius let himself breath. 'ALL THAT STARING WAS TO TELL IF I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH ?!' He thought to himself as he caught his breath.

Eda was once again on her couch. Not only completely wasted, but with ice cream all over her face and hands. She had been drinking, eating ice cream and ignoring everyone for the past 4 days now. She couldn't bear to talk to anyone, knowing they would ask what was wrong.

She knew she wouldn't be able to lie in this state, and when she would tell them, she would break down in tears. Raine and Darius, and basically anyone Eda met, have always seen her as the wonderful and cheerful one of the group. But only Lilith, her older sister, knew her true self.

As Eda was sulking on her couch, completely drunk, she heard someone knock on her front door. She decided to ignore it until it continued and she was quickly getting very annoyed. She jolted up, now pissed, as she walked to her front door, nearly falling atleast least four times on the way.

As Eda approached the door, the knocking kept on going, making her even more pissed and annoyed. She finally arrived at the front door, She stood there for a second, wondering who it could be and trying to calm herself down a bit. She put her hand on the door handle and sighed before finally opening the door, reveiling her worried sister.

"E-Edalyn ! Are you okay ?! What's going on ?! You haven't answered my texts and calls for the past 4 days !!" Lilith asked, now more worried then ever after seeing the state Eda was in. She tried to peek in to see the living room, but Eda blocked the way.

"What do you want ? I'm busy." Eda said, still drunk. But she somehow could control herself, as long as she didn't take the illegal stuff.

"I was very worried about you; are you okay? What's going on?.." Lilith explained as she calmed herself down.

"I-I..." It was happening, the moment Eda feared. Tears started to cloud her vision as she tried to hold it all in. She turned away from her sister, trying to hide the tears that Lilith had already seen. "I'm fine.."She muttered, loud enough for Lilith to hear.

"No, you're not." Lilih said, as she approched Eda. Lilith took Eda from the shoulders and gently took her inside, closing and locking the door behind her. Eda being how she curently was, didn't have the strenght to fight back, so she just followed whatever Lilith wanted her to do.

The Clawthorn sisters were now sitting on the couch, Lilith had cleaned the living room a bit, and sat Eda down.

"Now, what's going on ?" Lilith asked sternly, but it was obvious how worried she was.

Eda kept her mouth shut for a few minutes before finally speaking up. "T-They have a g-girlfriend.." Eda mutteres, as more tears clouded her vision and rolled down her cheecks, she hugged her kneew to her chest as she began quietly sobbing.

"You mean R-Raine ?" Lilith asked, starting to understand the situation. Eda just nodded, not being able to talk due to her breaking down. Lilith felt sorry for her sister as she sighed and pulled her close. "Shh...It's alright...You'll be alright.." Lilith conforted her sister, making Eda sob louder.
