Chapter 22: Thousand Fireflies

"Why are you still here?"

Jungkook turn around to see Taehyung going out of the building. He was looking at him with his eyes red and swollen. Gotten back together or finally let go of each other, made him feel uncomfortable seeing them so close to each other that he can only hear inaudible sound. It made him more intolerable that's why he decided to leave and wait outside.

However, it's been more or less an hour, why did he left her behind? Curious why he's out and she's not with him after their long discussion. He faces him confused.

"Where's Lisa?" He asked.

"I should be asking you that, why are you here? She left a moment ago," Taehyung said.

"What do you mean she left?" Jungkook gotten worried and took out his phone. He started dialing her number but to his dismay it didn't go through and heard her voice mail.

"She probably wants to be alone," Taehyung was convinced she left without anyone noticing, she looks like she was in a rush earlier. "She'll be fine, everyone is in a look out for her, her father would find her anyways,"

"Huh?" Jungkook chuckled sarcastically.

"That's how she is," Taehyung went closer at him, "She's a protected person, her family is,"

"Protected?" Jungkook creased his brows when he suddenly gets a message from Lisa telling she had errands to do and will go home by herself. "She has some errands to do," He muttered.

"You don't need to worry too much about her, you'll understand very soon what i'm talking about," Taehyung told him while staring at his phone. He wondered how he ended up liking Lisa after just having a break from a previous relationship. Well he kinda understood why he left, the toxicity that is. But of all people why her?.

"Do you really like Lisa?" Taehyung asked, "I know you just got out of a toxic relationship but what made you like her?"

Jungkook paused from reading her message to return his gaze on him, "If I say yes, what are you going to do about it?" "Are you going to remove me from the team?"

"I can't do that, she threatened the whole corporation not to," Taehyung smirked at him, "You're very lucky she's your friend, she already ended things between us a long tine ago,"

Jungkook who had felt a sigh of relief knowing they finally had a closure between them, "Does that mean you wouldn't kill me now?"

"Yeah," Taehyung nodded nonchalantly, "I just wish you wouldn't hurt her like I did," "She's a precious gem Jungkook, but to love her, there are sacrifices.." "I hate to admit that I failed to do that and to ever protect her from anything that stops her from dreaming," "She already said it, I can't be the man by her side, we aren't meant to be," "I'm just a pathetic man wanting her to love me back, but i'm too late,"

"Way too late for that," Taehyung slowly walks past him towards his car, and before he gotten far from him, he told him one last thing as he goes back Seoul. "Be the man that she deserves, love her more than you love yourself if you may, or i'll kick you out of this world if you let some weird guy have her before you," "I trust you with her,"

"Please take care of her, Jungkook,"
 

Jungkook lips curved into a smile, "I will,"

Chaeyoung happily hopped her feet towards the camping grounds while the other three quietly tag along. They decided to have an overnight camping at a nearby and famous camping grounds in the middle of the week. A lot of people camp on weekends but thankfully due to their flexible schedule they are all able to come.
