"Done? Impressive. Very impressive." Aiden Knight spoke without a hint of emotion in his voice as he flipped through the endless pages of the file he basically forced me to work on the entire night.

He threw the file on the desk and met my tired eyes. "You look awful, Dr. Aysel." He remarked mockingly.

I sucked in a deep breath. I truly did. I had stayed up the entire night. I had bags under my eyes and was trying to fight back my yawns as I stood before him. I hated paperwork and documentation. I would much rather sacrifice my sleep interacting with patients and taking care of them.

"Can I go now? I have to head to the OPD." I said.

He nodded. "Yes, you can. I have to let you know though that the weekly roster has been changed. You can take a look at it before you go to the OPD."

I frowned slightly. "Why does the change in the roster concern me?"

He smirked. "You can take a look for yourself. But to brief you, you have both morning and night shifts the entire week."

My eyes widened before they narrowed. "What?!"

His smirk only grew. "You can go home to pack some of your stuff and bring it here, once you find some free time."

"Are you out of your mind? How am I going to work 24/7?" I argued.

His gaze hardened, his eyes becoming cold. "Stop forgetting whom you're speaking to. I own this place now. If you have a problem, go write your resignation letter and put it on my desk. I'll gladly sign it."

I stared at him in disbelief. "You're a heartless monster." I uttered hatefully.

He remained unbothered and uncaring. "Tell me something I don't know."

I sucked in a frustrated breath, fisting my hands. "I hate you so much." I uttered through gritted teeth.

Not a sliver of emotion on his face. "You're still here?"

My nostrils flared as I abruptly turned on my heels, rampaging out of his office.

Retard.

The day flew by fast. There was a lot of patient influx during the day, and I barely had even a few spare minutes in between each patient interaction. As the patient flow died down by the night, I went to the doctor's room which was empty. Plopping down on the couch, I held my head in my hands, sighing. I could not believe that I had to stay at the hospital the entire night. Not just that night, but the entire week.

Aiden Knight was in dire need of psychiatric help. He was crazy and ruthless. What even had I done to him? Why was he going out of his way to emotionally hurt me? He should have been grateful for all the care I had given him while he was wounded. The way I put up with his shit. I hated his guts. Stupid, pathetic, thankless man.

My eyelids began to droop, and just as I was about to fall asleep, a loud knock sounded on the door. I sighed frustratedly, looking toward it. The door opened and a colleague's head peeked through.

"Hey..." he opened the door further. "Here's the file for all the documentation of today."

I scrunched my eyebrows together. "What? Why are you giving it to me? Can't someone else do it?"

"I've been told to specifically have you do it." He replied.

I let out another frustrated sigh, nodding. I knew exactly whose order that was. That man was adamant on making my life hell.

I took the file from his hand and watched him leave, before flipping the file open. I inhaled a deep breath as I realised how much work there was.
