When I woke up the next morning, I was safely tucked into Aiden's bed. As I slowly sat up, wondering where he was, I found him sitting at his desk, typing at his laptop.
My abdomen and back cramped with a really bad ache. As I sat clutching the side of my abdomen, my gaze wandered over the bedsheets.
Damn it.
I squeezed my eyes shut in embarrassment, palming my face. I ruined his bed. How am I even going to look at him straight now?
"Aysel?" He noticed that I had woken up. I jumped slightly at the sudden sound of his voice.
I gulped as he started walking up to me. Before he could say anything, his eyes fell on his ruined bedsheets, his mouth hanging open slightly.
"Aysel, are you—"
"I'm really sorry. I didn't realise." I gushed sheepishly, before he could complete his sentence.
His eyes scanned the blood stains on his sheets. It was certain that my clothes were badly stained too the way I bled through.
"Do you have any pads in your room?" He asked, his gaze fixated on the bloodstains for some reason.
I shook my head, too embarrassed to meet his gaze. "I forgot to buy them."
"Stay in bed. I'll be back in a bit." He announced.
My eyes widened. "Y-you're going? What if that... that guy breaks in again?"
"There's security outside. Don't worry. I won't be too long." He assured.
I nodded, wondering if he was actually going out to buy pads.
He left instantly, leaving me sitting in my own menstrual blood, on his bed.
He returned thirty minutes later carrying two shopping bags in his hand. I eyed them curiously. It looked like he had bought an entire store.
"Here." He said, placing them before me on the bed.
"Your sheets are totally ruined." I let him know the obvious.
"It's okay. They're used to it." He said simply.
I blinked at him. "Does Luna also menstruate on your bed?"
He gaped at me. "What?"
"What?"
He sighed in exasperation. "Look inside the bags."
I did as he told, looking into the first bag. It was full of packs of pads of all kinds. Looking back up at him in awe, I said, "I don't menstruate for two months straight."
He sighed. "I didn't know which ones to get so I got them all."
My heart fluttered a little. Then I remembered the second bag. Curiously, I looked inside it as well, my heart doing somersaults as I did.
It was full of chocolates and snacks.
I looked up at Aiden, baffled.
"Go change." He said, looking away.
I stood up slowly, cringing at the wet and uncomfortable feeling. Glancing back at the bed where I sat, I squeezed my eyes shut in embarrassment at the giant stain I had left back.
"It's alright, Aysel. Go." Aiden's voice made me re-open my eyes and start walking ahead.
It took me a while to clean up, and then I finally returned to Aiden's bedroom, dressed in clean clothes. He sat again at his desk, doing something on his laptop.
"What about the hospital?" I asked him, noticing that the bloody sheets had been replaced with new and clean ones.
"I have approved for you to have today off." He replied.
I sighed, sitting at the edge of his bed. "I need to go to work."
"You can go tomorrow."
"Will it be safe?" I asked nervously.
"It will be fine." He replied simply.
"How are you so sure?" I asked.
He sighed. "Aysel, the best thing to do is not to be so paranoid and overthink. You'll be fine. Trust me."
I bit my lip, deciding to not argue over it. He was right. I couldn't just spend the rest of my days being paranoid that something would happen to me. I had to get out of the house. I had to go to work and do my job.
I laid down on his bed in a foetal position, groaning quietly as my cramps intensified. "D-do you have painkillers?" I gasped out.
He looked behind, taking in the position I was in before bolting out of his seat. He searched through his drawers and presented me with paracetamol and water.
I sat up slowly, taking the medicine and then laid back down.
"Get under the covers." He said firmly.
"I can't move." I whimpered, tears welling up in my eyes.
Something flashed in his dark brown eyes. The next minute, he was scooping me up in his arms and tucking me under covers.
I gasped out loud as one of his hands tried massaging my lower back.
"Ouch!" I uttered, making him halt.
His eyes were wide as he looked at me in worry. "Did I do something wrong?"
I pouted. "Be gentle."
"Okay." He mumbled, applying less pressure this time.
I moaned softly, closing my eyes.
"Is that better?" He asked as his hands massaged my lower back, relieving the cramps.
I hummed, and it wasn't long until I fell asleep.

When I woke up, I was alone in the room. I noticed a few chocolates and snacks arranged neatly on the nightstand. Sitting up, I grabbed a chocolate and tore the wrapper, before biting into it, moaning at how good it tasted.
After finishing one chocolate and a bag of crisps, I got out of bed to look for Aiden. I took cautious steps, afraid of any intruder hiding around. Walking out of the room, I stepped downstairs and looked around. It was awfully quiet and I wondered if Aiden was even home.
I checked the kitchen first, but it was empty. Then I headed for the living room.
What I saw in there made me halt abruptly in my tracks, as I made a mental note to never walk into his living room again.
He sat on the couch with Luna on his lap. Her arms were around his neck as she kissed along his jawline. His back was to me so I couldn't really see his face. His hands, however, rested on both sides of her waist as her lips now moved to his neck.
Something twisted and turned inside of me.
"You again?!" She seethed, making me jump as I realised she had noticed me.
She glared daggers at me, while Aiden turned to look at me. His face was neutral.
"Who is she, sir?" She directed her gaze to him.
"Go back upstairs." He called to me in a commanding tone.
I forced my feet to move, pacing out of the living room with my aching lower back and heart. When I made it back to his bedroom, I went straight to the bathroom and locked it, before dropping to the tiled floor and burying my face in my hands as I cried.
And I did not know why.
