SEVEN YEARS LATER

Aires pov...

I was wearing a billion dollars.

The dainty necklace that rested on my chest -the one that I stole last year- was worth just over a billion dollars. It was nothing special, nothing flashy, but I wanted it- so I took it.

Dressed to the nines in a strapless black silk dress with a giant slit, black louboutin heels and cherry red gloss on my lips, I sipped on the glass of tequila in my hand. Subtly, I glanced at him across from me whilst brushing my waist long black hair out of my face. He was so oblivious it was amusing.

I watched through my peripheral vision as he slid across the bar towards me, signing his own death certificate.

"And what is a gorgeous woman like yourself doing here at the bar alone when there's a spectacular party going on in the room?"

Slowly, I slid my gaze onto him whilst a sickeningly seductive smirk tugged on my lips. "Wouldn't you like to know." I hummed before glancing back at the bar in front of me.

Five words had left my lips and already I knew I had him in the palm of my hand- right where I wanted him. Men were so stupid, so easily manipulated.

"What's your name?" He whispered whilst scooting closer to me.

"What's yours?"

Play the game.

I flicked him a hint of a smirk as one curled on his own lips. His eyes were narrowed on me, watching me, tracking my every damn move. And I batted my eyelashes at him, playing the perfect pretend stranger in disguise.

I knew everything about him down to where he took his morning piss, there wasn't a secret about him I didn't know. But there wasn't a thing about me he knew. The irony.

"Playing hard to get? I like that in a woman." Oh really?

With a roll of my eyes, I flicked my gaze back to the bartender. My lips parted, ready to order a drink, but he beat me to it, just like I knew he would.

"Get her another and I'll have whatever she's having." He mumbled with a weak wave of his hand.

What an idiot. "Do you know what I'm drinking?" I hummed before sliding my gaze back onto him.

"What are you drinking?" He asked with a stupid grin on his lips.

He was making it too damn easy- couldn't anyone let me have a little fun? Did everything have to be so easy, I wanted to play.

Slowly, I leant across the bar until I lined my lips up with his ear. "Tequila." I whispered before pulling back with a smirk on my lips.

Whilst he laughed under his breath at me, I brought my drink to my lips, my eyes still locked onto his. He was feeding into my game, making it so freaking easy for me. Any other day I would have appreciated it. I liked to get in and out, get it over and done.

But I actually wanted a game- a chase. I was in the mood to play and drag it out because I needed to blow off steam. The chase was flying by too fast, but I could still have fun with the kill- as long as he didnt croak within the first few minutes of my fun.

"You've been sipping on tequila this whole time?" He blew out in disbelief.

"Mmmhh." I hummed with a nod.

Another stupid grin overtook his face. "God, your fucking crazy."

"Oh, you have no idea."

I wanted a chase, he wasn't giving it to me- but I was ready for the fun. I was getting antsy in my seat even though I knew I needed to bide my time. I needed to be patient, the one thing I always lacked.

"So," he hummed whilst leaning across the bar, a smirk on his lips. "You into trouble?"

"Depends."

I liked the kinda trouble that brought screams from peoples lips and the colour crimson red but I wasn't going to scare him yet. I wanted to toy with him, make him scared until I got to have my fun. They always were a better kill when they lost their mind.

"Wanna go cause some trouble?"

Slowly, I swivelled around the ice in my glass with a straw, pretending to be bored. "Doing?"

"What would you say to some exploring?" Music to my ears. "Empty hallways, a quiet room..." A quiet place to rip his heart out of his chest, perfect.

I hated when men made my job easier, I liked the work- but I also loved the screaming more. And the idiot in front of me had no clue what I had in store for him. He was going to wish he was dead the second I got him alone in an empty room. He wasn't the only monster at the gala, parading around in an expensive suit- pretending to be a saint. But he was the worst in the room. The others were going to get what was coming for them, me, soon enough. They had no clue what I had planned.

With a hint of a smirk on my lips, I pushed my drink onto the bar and silently followed after the man who wasn't going to live to see tomorrow. I was going to make sure he was dead by midnight.
