Heads bow down as we pass the border, and I'm surprised at why they would do that. We pass those heads, and we are finally away, I ask.

"Why are they bowing down?"

"Well, I'd be surprised if they didn't." Ares chuckles.

"You told them about me?" I interrogate further, kind of feeling like I'd be disappointed if he's done it so fast without me being able to watch reactions of the pack members. And yet another part of me felt glad he would claim me quickly once he stepped foot onto his territory, letting everyone know I was off-limits and so was he.

"No. I was thinking actions speak louder than words." He says casually before he starts rocking our intertwined hands forward and backward slightly.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean: let the pack talk a little. They'll know you're my mate immediately when they see us walk to the main house." He explains mischievously.

"You want rumours to spread in your pack about me?" I tease.

"Well, no... but it is as you said." He stresses on the no before continuing his sentence. "If we announce to everyone that you're my mate officially, you will be the Luna. Marked or not. If you want time to bond with the pack, you have it now." He explains endearingly, and I feel my heart melt at it.

"So, only Aionar knows?"

"And Malcolm, my Gamma." He reveals.

"What about those patrol wolves?" I ask, remembering how this conversation was birthed. Those patrol wolves were bowing their heads to both Ares and I.

"Well, maybe it's because we are walking with our hands intertwined or maybe it's because you're an Alpha wolf. I'm sure Iverene is enjoying the attention." He shrugs. At the mention of her name, Iverene awakens, her presence strong in my mind. She's letting me know she agrees with her mate.

"You're right." I voice Iverene's opinion to the matter before the conversation falls silent.

The trip from blood moon pack to full moon pack was a day away, just like Ares had told me. With us sleeping through the night and taking constant breaks for reasons I couldn't comprehend; it took us two days to finally arrive. Staying in the woods on territory that belongs to no one but rogues; we'd always have to stay on the lookout. Even Ares demanding that I rest fully and leave the patrol to Aionar and him did nothing to soothe my nerves. We had two other wolves following us close behind; they were patrol wolves. However, Ares had told them to follow behind a little far away. He wanted to keep us comfortable.

Due to being unmarked, communicating with Ares or Aionar is hell when in wolf form. I'd always have to shift back, only to have Ayre jump on me immediately to cover me up and Aionar would turn around immediately, not looking our way. I'd end up saying what I had to say before Ayre would urge me to shift back urgently. I'd always make sure to take time to pet him as to tease him and also bond with Ares's wolf as Ivy and not Iverene.

When having to take breaks, I'd feel a disappointment engulf me. I had never run so freely like this before... open land on an empty, clean pathway that was like a road. I didn't have to dodge any lodges or branches that could injure me. I didn't have to worry about making my way through a maze of trees. And most importantly: I didn't have to turn around and run back due to reaching the border. Here, I was free to run for hours. I was running with the wind and that was all it took for me to forget and relax.

I'd ignore Ares and Aionar slowing down for breaks and I would continue my free run. They'd have no choice but to follow and keep up with my speed. I soon realised truly how fast Ayre can be and for how long before he would pounce on Iverene, causing her to slow down and stop. Iverene and I would only laugh at this.
