the place was terrible. not quality wise, but just the overall appearance. jaylee's eyes couldn't focus properly with all the lights and neon color infiltrating her senses.

they were wandering aimlessly until a man took them to see doon, tom's drug dealer.

"have a drink" he said

"we just want to find ryder" colt said trying to politely decline. jaylee nodded to confirm his statement.

"how come no one ever wants to chat with the drug dealer!" doon shouted, he was getting riled up and he knew what he was doing.

"oh uh sorry, we weren't aware you wanted to talk to us." jaylee said trying to clear the air, "we could talk about our job? we're stunt doubles."

"you do a stunt today?" soon asked, his attention now directed towards jaylee. his eyes roaming up and down her body before resting on her face.

jaylee noticed and crossed her arms over herself. colt didn't like this. he subtly but protectively put his arm around her shoulders.

"just a car roll." he said

"car roll! car roll!" doon was getting riled up. but this time he was happy instead of angry, "that's why i like you guys, you do the hard shit! they give Oscars for that?"

"no unfortunately not" jaylee chuckled.

"here's to the unsung heroes." he had a smile on his face as he lifted his glass before continuing, " no offence but i prefer cartoons." he said

"none taken, i love disney's tangled." jaylee said trying to break the tension between everyone.

doon smiled at her "yeah, movies try to make everything feel real but it's not real, it's a movie." he said leaning in closer to her, making colt tighten his grip. "cartoons don't pretend to be real, you ever see dumbo? dumbo changed my life."

colt aas starting to feel wonky.

"did you drug us?" he asked

luckily for jaylee she didn't drink anything doon had offered her.

"look man i'm sorry i like you guys, the girl more but you know what i mean!" he said loudly with a smile. "but orders are orders."

jaylee stood up and pulled colt up with her.

"i'm sorry, but we can't let you leave" jaylee's blood ran cold.

two men advanced towards them. colt shook out of jaylee's grip and threw the first punch.

everyone was everywhere, jaylee couldn't keep track of anyone as she stuck close by colt.

when someone started charging at her she was knocked back into reality.

she was an independent woman for fucks sake! she doesn't need some man to protect her.

jaylee fought like an expert, ducking and dodging the attacks thrown her way and counteracting perfectly.

before she knew it she had taken down four guys, placing the final blow on the fifth.

her adrenaline was through the roof as she found  colt. grabbing onto his sleeve she pulled him away from doon and took him outside and ran away from the club. both of them had blood decorating their skin.

"colt that was amazing!" she said laughing "oh my god that was such a rush!"

"that was kinda badass." he said

jaylee jumped at him engulfing him in a hug.

colt returned the favor squeezing her firmly.

"god i forgot how much i missed you jay."

"you better have missed me. if you didn't we'd have a problem." she said now in a whisper

colt could feel her breath on his ear, now that he thought about it, he could smell her perfume and shampoo too.

jaylee broke the hug first and looked colt in the eyes placing her arms around his neck, colt lowered his hands to the sides of her waist.

it was on split second, but when their lips met sparks flew.

when they pulled away jaylee could feel the warmth of his lips lingering on hers ast they tingled.

colt's eyes were wide and he held his breath. he never really liked jody did he? he knew that deep down.

but this was just a slur of the moment thing. and this was made clear when jaylee pulled away and started profusely apologizing.

"it's fine jay, i get it. we were just living in the moment. and now that moments over." he said with a sinking feeling in his chest, "now come on doon said something about a hotel and to ask for a fruit basket."

jaylee nodded and followed, she shouldn't have apologized. apologies are for accidents. she did this on purpose and now they were just friends again.
