Twenty-Two. Double Date

⋆ ˚。⋆ ꪆৎ ˚

When Jude and Nevaeh came back to the home, he had presented her the gift basket that sat by the door. It was filled with chocolates and some of her favorite items and a teddy bear. There was even a photobooth strip of the couple, which she cherished a lot. When she walked into the home, she was presented with four boquets of flowers, all assorted differently, but still matched each other. The boys cheered her and Jude on, and João even promised a double-date now that he had pulled the proposal off. Gavi hugged his baby sister and forced her to promise no babies.

"How did you pull this all off?" Nevaeh asked Jude.

"My partner in crime's right there," he nodded in Angela's direction, who had just emerged from some room after hearing the commotion.

She gave Angie a hug, thanking her for everything and apologizing for speculating that she was home-wrecking. At about half-past seven, everyone had gone home except for Jude.

The girl decided to shower before bed, hopping in after everyone was gone. She played music in the background, loud enough that she couldn't hear what was going on outside of the room.

Her music stopped and someone, Jude, walked into the bathroom. "Vaeh, I can hear you playing Persian Rugs from the kitchen."

"What?" she shouted, not being able to hear him over the water.

"I can hear your freaky music from the kitchen!" he shouted.

She busted out laughing and said, "You're mad that PartyNextDoor's getting freaky and you're not."

     "Bet that."

He unpaused her music, but it wasn't as loud as it was before. She then could hear his music turn on, but she couldn't tell what it was at first. She turned the shower off, getting out and turning her music off. Wrapping a towel around herself, the girl walked out of the bathroom to hear The Weeknd singing. It was 'Or Nah' by several artists, but Nevaeh didn't know the names of them. She started dying of laughter as she watched her fiancé prance around the kitchen with the music playing.

"And I'm the freaky one?" Nevaeh asked him.

"Do I need to remind you of what happened last time? You are definitely the freaky one," he replied. She felt her face heat up with, remembering what had happened with her and Jude.

He walked over to her, snaking an arm around her waist and cupping her cheek with his other hand. "I'm just teasing, baby. I love you."

A smile crept onto her face as she replied, "I love you more."

Days had passed and Nevaeh and Angela finally planned the double-date between them and their boyfriends. They had agreed on seven and at this restaurant about an hour away. The group showed up on time, all of them wearing basic outfits. It was cold outside, so Nevaeh couldn't wear what she had planned to.

"I still can't believe you proposed to her," João stated as he and his girlfriend examined Nevaeh's ring. "It feels like you two just got together yesterday."

"Time flies when you're having fun," Vaeh smiled.

"Oh, and y'all had a lot of fun," Angela smirked, looking between the couple. Her and her boyfriend started giggling, while Nevaeh and Jude sat there with flushed cheeks.

"Yep, definitely," Jude told her sarcastically, although it wasn't a complete lie.

The group had gotten their drinks, Vaeh ordering a shirley temple, Jude getting lemonade, Angela with a frozen margarita, and João with water. They continued with seperate conversations, Jude and João talking to each other and Nevaeh and Angie gossipping.

"So, now that you two are getting married, are you finally moving here?" Angela asked, a hopeful look in her eyes. She hated the idea of going back to a long-distance friendship with Vaeh, and she couldn't even imagine what Jude felt when he was away from his girlfriend. For ages, Angie had begged Nevaeh to stay with her and João in Spain until she found a place. Her friend declined the offer every time.

Nevaeh's head turned in the direction of her boyfriend, a curious look on her face. "I don't know, Jude, am I moving out here?"

"Obviously," Jude looked back at her. "I plan on making that possible very soon."
