I have no idea how but news got around somehow that Landon and I were together. It was actually beneficial as no one dared to even brush against me save for the few fangirls who were sending me death glares.
I had no idea of who Landon really was and I had to find out from one of his fans that his father owned the local mall. That explains why Gabriel was filling in for a friend.
I may or may not have went back to the mall with the expectation of seeing Gabriel but Sophia told me that he was only doing a friend a favour. Don't judge people, the dude's hot.
The hallway split when I walked by, my eyes wandering in wonder as people refused to meet my gaze. Interesting. I looked over to the side as I was nearing the end of the hallway to see Violet glaring at me, her eyes telling of the millions of things she wished to bestow upon me but was unable to. Trevor was next to her, his arm around her waist, with a look of...wait, was that longing? What the what?! I shook my head, obviously imagining things as I scurried down the hallway and into the next one where I'd find Sophia leaning next to her locker.
"Hey Soph!" I waved my hand to her and she looked over at me wide eyed.
"Hi, someone's awfully cheerful for a morning...at school." I nodded in agreement before waving a hand around, trying to find the words to explain my new discovery.
"Well, you see, being Landon's girlfriend has its perks. No one touches me or talks to me and Violet won't come five feet from me so I'd say life's pretty good right now." I beam at Sophia who returns the gesture with one of her own bright smiles.
"Wow, Jazz, that's great!" She pulls me in for a hug and I pat her back gently with a laugh.
"Yeah, it really is! Oh, Gabriel's still picking us up after school right?" Sophia nods as we hear the first bell ring for class. We chat excitedly as we walk to class, the other students staying away from us. Sophia looks at me with a raised eyebrow and I smile widely, my head nodding quickly. We both squeal and do a little happy dance as we walk.
First period English was boring as all we did was watch a movie on poems. Second period was a bit better but dissecting a frog in science is never fun. Third was math, my least favorite and hardest subject but it was review day so it wasn't too bad. Fourth period Art class was by far my favorite class of my schedule but it had one of my least favorite people in it; Trevor Mason.
As I stepped inside the class, a bit late too because my math teacher kept us back, I realized that the only seat open was next to Trevor. With a groan of annoyance, I made my way over to the isle holding the blank canvas, and sat my happy butt on the stool. Trevor gave me a side glance that I caught, while I think he thought he was being discrete.
"Welsh." I looked over at him in shock, eyes wide and eyebrows raised in alarm. He turned slightly so that I could see his bright blue eyes. I pointed a finger at my chest and he rolled his eyes. "Duh, do you see anyone else here with the last name Welsh?" I shook my head quickly, averting my gaze, as I didn't want to look at him when he began his taunts.
"Just get it over with Trevor." He stiffened next to me and I hesitantly raised my head to look at him. He was staring at his blank canvas intently, as if not wanting to look at me, and his hands were clentched into fists on his lap. I didn't know what to say or do. It's not like they have a handbook called What To Do When Your Bully Is Being Nice! or anything like that.
"Jasmine-" he didn't get to say much more because the bell rang, signaling the start of fourth period and our Art teacher stood up from behind her desk. She clapped her hands together once and looked around the room, her smile beaming at all of us.
