Bella and the star.

Disclaimer: I hate Bellatrix but...there is good in everyone, what if she had changed?

Sirius was struggling in the cell he was chucked in, the Dementors having a feast on his moments of happiness.

He had lost everyone, his bestfriends were dead, his Godson was taken away from him, he was forcefully sent to Azkaban for crimes he hadn't commit. Remus was still alive, but he knew, better than anyone, that his only living bestfriend was dead inside.

He was worried, about many things, most importantly about Harry, but what worried him the most was, Remus. His transformations- he would be all alone now.

The night was over, the star had fallen, and now, the brightest in the sky has lost his shine.

Sirius was startled as he heard a deep low voice from the cell beside him.

"Sirius?" His cousin's voice sounded through the empty silence.

"What?" He barked.

"Don't let your shine die." She responded sadly.

Sirius was more than shocked. "Bella?" He asked softly, all the fights forgotten in the moment.

"It's me." She responded, her voice cracking. She had gone from the beloved Bella to the feared Bellatrix, just because of a boy.

"You loved him, didn't you? Tom Riddle?" Sirius asked, his brain racing, the Dementors from their side had momentarily drifted aside.

"I did." Croaked Bellatrix Lestrange, leaning against the wall of her cell. "He ruined us, he ruined our family, Regulus died because of him!" She felt her anger again.

"You tortured the Longbottoms, another boy is orphaned because of you." Sirius' voice went dark, he had heard rumours staying there.

"I did." Tears ran down her face. "I should have been brave like Andromeda, should have stood up for what was right. I was mental Sirius, I was mental! I hate myself."

"You were tortured by your parents Bella, it's ok." Sirius soothed. "You were mislead, my only fortune was that I was disowned." He paused, hearing his cousin's cries. "Though what you did is completely wrong."

"I regret." Choked out Bellatrix. The Dementors had made all her happy memories with his family flash in her mind, deep down, where the little Bella was hidden, they had resurfaced her, to eat her.

"I deserve this!" She said at last.

He leaned against the wall. "You do."

There was silence.

"Can I ask you something?" Sirius asked finally.

"Yes?"

"What if he returned?"

Bellatrix freezed, he knew his secret. "Sirius, I know why he died, Regulus. He discovered his secret, he told me about it. He found out about it and murdered Reg. He made Horcruxes, he is still alive Sirius! One is in my vault, one is with Lucius, one may be with Kreacher. Regular was determined to find it."

Sirius considered this for a few minutes, he felt devastated. "Why are you telling me?" He asked.

"Because I know, that you will live up to your namesake, you will bring the shine to us, you will shine bright. You are Sirius, The Dog Star. And I regret, Ia m telling you because you can do it. I know."

'Dog Star' ... 'Dementors don't effect animals' his mind stirred.

"Bella, when he will return, Will you join him?" Sirius asked a ghost of a plan forming in his mind.

"Ofcourse not." Her voice trembled. "He is evil." She let out a sigh. "This is all my fault." She cried out loud.

Sirius' head jerked up, the dark cell darkened, they were coming, gliding towards their cell.

"Bella, remember what mother taught us? How to make an unbreakable vow without using magic?" He said urgently, he could feel the dread returning.

"You have to be sorry from your heart for something you had done, only then you can pour your heart out to someone and make an unbreakable vow with them, without using magic, of anything you want." She recited what her aunt had taught her. Her eyes sparked up as realisation stucked her. "I regret going to dark side Sirius! I poured my heart to you! I told you my deepest secret! I can make an unbreakable vow to you" her excitement suddenly died. "But Why?"

"Make an unbreakable vow Bellatrix, to not go over the dark side again, no matter what. I have a plan to get out of here."

She agreed to it straight away.

"I told you my deepest of the secrets." They recited together.

"I regret my decisions deeply." They sang as Wulbegra used to.

"I, Bellatrix Lestrange, vow to not go to the bad side ever again." Bellatrix said.

"I, Sirius Black, is the witness to this vow." Sirius said.

A beam of white light erupted from both Sirius and Bellatrix, overcoming the ever-growing darkness. A shield was formed infront of them as the light faded away.

Sirius felt himself smile. "Looks like this shield will protect us."

"But how-"

"Magic of pureness Bella, the soul inside you, that was still pure, the little part of it, made the promise, remorsed and regretted. Something that is beyond our thinking." Sirius answered.

"Don't let your shine die." Bellatrix reminded him as the Dementors came near them.
