The inside of the station was grotesque. There was mold growing in between the ceiling and the wall, rats scurrying around.
"This is some bullshit! We didn't kill those children, it was all Vincent!" Jeanne complained as she watched the officers get Claire's fingerprint while she got her photo taken. Jeanne's protests fell on deaf ears as the officer shoved her in a cell then took a picture of Claire next, who posed for the camera and begged for another photo because she thought she had a double chin in the first one.
The officers soon pushed Claire into a cell with Jeanne, not even bothering to listen to their pleas of innocence.
(I mean, they weren't exactly the most innocent people. Claire and Jeanne had done many illegal things but that was for the sake of their anomalous workplace. Pretending to sell drugs so they could capture a drug-loving anomaly... breaking and entering into a filthy rich pig's manor.. And many many more.)
Jeanne sat on the cold floor of the cell, head in her hands as she silently cursed the arrogant-ass officers. This was really bad, they didn't even have money for a lawyer damnit! This was all Vincent's fault and if the two of them ever got out of this hell they'd go straight for that crayon wannabe.
While Jeanne was busy thinking of ways to get back at Vincent's ass, Claire was whining about how they probably had a bad picture of her, not even bothering to worry about their situation.
The metal bars of the cell shook when a female officer smacked her baton against it to get their attention instead of just speaking. "Ladies, you have a visitor. They claim to be your guys' 'best friends'," the blonde-haired officer said, fixing her cap and walking off.
"I bet you 40 bucks it's Jeremy and Fritz!" Claire said, pointing at Jeanne who slowly looked up at her with sleep-deprived eyes. As the two or three people walked in, Claire realized she was wrong.
It was Vincent, Mike, and Scott.
"Oh, fuck! Now I owe your emo ass 40 bucks!" Claire whined. Jeanne didn't even acknowledge how Claire was whining, her eyes staring daggers at Vincent.
"You fucking piece of shit!" Jeanne yelled, getting up from her spot and taking her hands out of the cell through the bars to pull Vincent against them, making him smack against the metal and yelp in pain. Claire laughed as she stared at Vincent who was currently being abused by Jeanne. Mike and Scott weren't even trying to help.
Not even the officers intervened, so Vincent left the station with a hugeass bump on his hugeass forehead.
"Look, we know you and Claire didn't kill those children. We know you two wouldn't—even if we've only known you for 24 hours. Anyways, we can get help to look for a proper lawyer for you and Claire," Scott said.
"But for now, you two will have to sit tight and trust us to help you," Scott added. Mike, despite not liking either Claire or Hannah nodded in agreement, not wanting to end up like Vincent.
And so the two left the station, leaving Claire and Jeanne all alone in the cell again.
"This is just bullshit. I can't believe our stay in this stupid universe has been extended thanks to Barney. What's worse: we haven't even found C-13 yet!" Jeanne complained, slumping down to the cement.
"Oh, don't worry, you heard what the night bitches said, right? They'll surely find us a lawyer in no time!" Claire said with her usual shit-eating grin, caring more about trifles like her hair than the situation they were in.
"Seriously? You're counting on those dumbasses to free us? Psh, oh please. It'll take them a hundred years to beg their greedyass boss for money, and you know how expensive lawyers are!"
