I was up surprisingly early this morning which was a pleasant change from the past week which involved a lot of Katie or Caitlin dragging me out of bed. I had plenty of time to change today and made sure to pick an outfit that would cover my scars so no one would ask. Caitlin had told me to pack a bikini or something because they were planning to go swimming in the recovery pool. To avoid arguing I threw one in my bag, but there was no chance I was swimming.

"Good morning," Cait greeted me as I waltzed down the stairs.

"Morning," I said leaning into her chest for a hug.

"What's gotten you in such a good mood?" she asked.

"I'm not sure, to be honest, but I get to see Kyra today so that's one thing," I answered.

"Did you pack your bikini?" she asked next. I reluctantly nodded and took a seat at the table which had returned to having one empty plate setting. Cait smiled and kissed my head before placing an apple in front of me. "Eat that, or we're not leaving."

"Fine, maybe we won't be going then," I replied.

"Quinny, please," she said with a pouting lip.

"If it makes you stop making that face then I will," I responded taking a bite from the apple.

After the rather peaceful morning, we made the drive out to the training centre. I still hadn't met everyone on the team, only Viv, Beth, Leah, Kyra and then obviously Kyra and Caitlin. This meant there were still a lot more people to meet, but hopefully, it would all be fine in the end. We walked in with Caitlin holding my hand for comfort. She always held my hand to stop me from picking at my fingernails, and for some reason, it seemed to usually work.

The first face I saw was Kyra's. I immediately broke from Cait's grip and sprinted across the room, leaping into Kyra's arms. She lifted me up as I wrapped my legs around her waist and my arms around her neck. Neither of us said anything, she just let me take all the time I needed.

"I missed you," I whispered. In my defence, I hadn't seen her since the Monday I started school, which although only the beginning of the week, was still a long time.

"Have you told them yet?" she asked. My mood immediately changed and I pulled myself off of Kyra before sulking back to Caitlin. "That answers my question then," she continued.

"It's good to see you, Kyra," Katie said clearly sensing the tension between the pair of us.

We all made our way into the common room where I saw Beth, Viv, and Leah. The taller blonde came over to hug me and carefully walked me away from Cait, Katie and Kyra.

"Why do I sense some tension here?" she asked.

"Kyra's being mean," I replied.

"I doubt she's being that mean," Leah reasoned.

"She's being mean, and she knows what she's doing and she needs to stop," I responded looking directly at the young Aussie from across the room.

"Quinn, stop," Leah warned.

"Or what?" At this, I walked out of the room in desperate need of a break. I hadn't had to meet anyone new yet, but the already established people were enough to make me need a socialising break. I had a very limited social battery, and today was really testing it.

I made my way into the gym, which I had come to for the first time I had visited the training centre. It really hadn't changed, but was much more peaceful without anyone in it. I placed myself on one of the benches so I could keep an eye on the door while being hidden from the direct eye line.
