After the burial of their daughter, Shinobu stayed in her office the whole week. She ignored every call she heard. Her crow had no choice but to report back to the master that she will not be taking any missions as of now.

Giyu on the other hand arrives much too early in his missions. Killing demons became his outlet for his pain. There is anger and resentment in his heart, he blames everything on the man above all.

That man caused both him and Shinobu so much pain. He took so much from them. When they finally had the chance to be happy again, to start a family, he stripped them away from that happiness.

Shinobu stared at the window with lifeless eyes. Had she known that she was pregnant much earlier, then their baby could've lived a healthy life.

This is all her fault.

The door slides open, and enters her lover. He sits beside her, they both looked at the window with nothing present in their eyes but pain and suffering.

"This is all my fault..." She mutters

"Don't" Giyu said "It's not. Don't blame yourself."

Shinobu's blood runs cold, she knew she had to tell him the truth. Losing him isn't a risk she wants to take, but he deserves to know the truth, even if it means he will hate her for it.

She begins to explain her plan to avenge her sister from that demon. Giyu was in shock to hear those words from her. He was even more rocked when he heard about the poison. She was on a suicide mission. He was gonna lose her, the worst part is, she wants it to happen.

The poison in her system killed their daughter. She tried to explain further, her lack of knowledge of her own pregnancy, her carelessness. Giyu's feelings were tangled with one another. His thoughts covered in a dense fog. He stood up from his seat, and moves away from her.

She killed her. It was unbelievable.

All this time he believed it was just bad luck.

His pain, his anger, they clouded his judgment.

Shinobu pleaded with him to stay with her, but he couldn't bring himself to sit beside the woman who kept a secret about her plans from him that will inadvertently cause their lost.

He turns his back on her, and leaves.

From that moment, his chest was filled with boiling anger.

He never spoke to her ever since.
