Akira

Akira watched as the last Sanistery soldier fell, Starstreak's sword standing perfectly upright, buried in the back of the soldier's skull.

Yelling came from both ends of the hallway.

"Can we not have a break for one second?" Neyco said exasperated.

"Apparently not," Akira flicked her head back and forth between the two hallway ends. "Starstreak! We're going to find Lunae!" Akira called to the Glacian.

"Leaves more of the fun to us!" Starstreak called back, wrapping an arm around Seth's slim shoulders.

Akira grabbed Neyco's hand, and they set off down the hallway.

"We're going to get Lunae because of the money, right?" Neyco asked as they ran.

"Yeah, of course," Akira replied. "If I could leave her here and never think of her again, I would, but it's a wasted opportunity to not take her with us. She's the princess, having her in a jail cell would finally give the Alliance something over the Sanistery."

Neyco nodded, "I like the sound of that." He smirked.

Akira did not fail to notice that his grip on her hand tightened.

They got to the end of the hallway and rounded the corner coming face to face with two Sanistery soldiers. One of the soldiers had black thread embroidered around the collar of his uniform, a triangle of golden thread interrupted the black on one side.

It must've been some kind of label for whatever post he held. Akira recalled how Lunae's uniform had had a silver cross on her collar. Lunae was a healer. Healers had magic.

Which makes it very possible this soldier has some sort of power too.

"Careful with the guy with the triangle," Akira leaned closer to Neyco as they gripped their swords tighter.

Without warning the soldiers launched at them, as if only realising then that the two Aratky were not meant to be running free in the building.

Akira dropped to the floor as the normal uniformed soldier swung her sword to drive through Akira's neck. The blonde swept her own sword at the soldier's legs. The blue-haired woman blocked Akira's blow and kicked the Aratky back in the chest.

Akira grunted but leapt straight back on her feet. She closed the distance between her and the soldier quickly and left no room for the Sanistery lady to react.

Their swords clashed and Akira did not calm down in her onslaught. She kept her Aratky strength forward and hit blow after blow forcing her opponent to stumble and falter.

The soldier's sword clattered on the shimmering silver floor. Akira wasted no time in driving her blade through the soldier's chest, a vulgar noise ringing out as Akira twisted the sword before removing it from the woman's body.

Neyco cried out making Akira whip her head in his direction.

The black uniform soldier had Neyco down on one knee. Their swords were locked and Neyco's muscles rippled as he braced against the soldier's apparent strength.

That must be his magic. Akira concluded.

"Neyco, knee!" She called as she ran towards the brunette.

Neyco's cut a glance of realisation to her and twisted his knee outwards. Akira ran forward and used it to propel herself upwards. She held her sword high above her head, ready to bring it down on the black uniform soldier.

But the soldier looked up in time and raised his sword above his head. He stamped down on Neyco's weapon, pinning it to the floor, as the Aratky man wasn't prepared for the sudden vanish of pressure.
