I opened my eyes to complete darkness. I was actually at the bottom of the hole. Amalie was gone and I didn't know where Maeve was.

I looked down at my watch to check for the time. My watch was broken. I guess the impact smashed it. The only thing I had was my backpack. Inside was the diary, the gold key, the invisible ink pen, a muffin and the map of the labyrinth.

None of these things could help me get out of the hole. But maybe they could give me clues. After all Cassandra did talk to me through a dream. Either that or I'm delusional.

I opened the diary, it said; the crown of glass once broken, repaired.

Okay, that does that even mean? What crown of glass? Whose crown? How was it repaired. Who repaired it?

I had no idea what that meant or where to even begin on getting out of this hole.

I sat there dazed for a couple more minutes then drifted off back to sleep.

I was now back in that creepy library. I had opened up the shelf already. Inside was a wooden staircase, it looked old and dusty and was full of cobwebs. I decided to go down the stairs. I figured nothing bad could happen in a dream, right?

As I walked down the stairs each step I took made the floor creak. It spiralled all the way down until I heard a gushing sound of water. Suddenly I stepped on cobblestone and in front of me was a river that had a car its way through the cobblestone. I was in the labyrinth. I stared at it for a second confused. Suddenly I heard the sound of crying. I was shocked to hear someone cry. I'm the only one down here, right? I looked toward where the sound was coming from and saw her. It was Maeve. Sitting on the ground with her head buried in her hands. I wondered if that was really her or just my dream. But everything I dreamed so far was real. Maybe she was having a dream too and somehow our dreams mashed up.

"Maeve? Is that really you?" I asked.
She looked up immediately. "Maddie?! Oh my gosh!"
"It's just a dream Maeve, we're not actually together" I said sadly.
"Oh, but maybe we can help each other. Find each other until each other and tell each other everything."
"Okay, where do you think you are?"
"I got out of the creepy clown place a while ago. After that, I wandered around the labyrinth. Then I ended up in some big dirt hole couple of minutes ago."
"Oh my gosh! We're in the same place-"

Before I could finish, my dream ended. I woke up.

I was still at the bottom of the hole. Now I had to get out and get Maeve. I yelled and screamed, but didn't seem like she heard me. Maybe I was too far down for anyone to hear. I had to get out on my own.

I got up off the ground. I stared at the dirt walls, looking for any footholds. I couldn't see, it was pitch black. I decided to go and start climbing. This was super scary and dangerous, but I had no other choice. If I stay down there, I'd be done anyways. I had to guess I was probably about halfway up now.

That's when I slipped.

Luckily, I caught myself so I didn't fall. I put my foot back on the foothold and continued to climb. I finally reached the top.

Once I pulled myself up from the hole. All I saw was pitch blackness. The once dirt archway exit was now gone.

What do I do? There's no way to get out now. I called out to Maeve. This time she answered. I was so happy to have my best friend back. I also noticed that Amalie was gone. She must've escaped already.

I started banging on the walls to see if maybe they'd open. I banged and yelled I noticed something. There was an engraved star on the wall. I suddenly had an idea.
"Maeve!" I yelled. "Is there an engraved on your side of the wall?"
"Umm" she said, "Yes!"
"Put your fingers on it"
"Ok!"

I put my fingers on the engraved star too. I waited for something to happen for about 10 seconds. Then I heard gears turning. The wall opened. Maeve was on the other side. We ran and hugged each other. I told her about everything that had happened. We were so happy to see each other.

But then I realized something. If it takes 2 people to open the dirt archway then how who did Amalie and I get in and how did she get out? That was a creepy realization.

It meant we weren't alone.
