Being stuck in illusions was like being stuck in VR. Yet it wasn't fun, it was scary and terrible honestly. The scene had shifted again and we were in Singapore. I knew because of that big boat hotel, I could never remember the name of it.

But, if we had a chance of getting out of here, it probably had to be now.
"Maeve, it's time to get out" I said checking the timer which I now turned into a wrist watch using a broken strap from the backpack. We had 5 minutes, it sounds like a lot but it really wasn't. "Now!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We ran around the empty city under the inky black sky searching for a source of light. After about 3 minutes of searching we finally found one.
It was a trapdoor hidden in a water filled fountain. We jumped in before thinking twice, we didn't even get wet actually. Which helped a lot.
But, we found ourselves stuck in a 'grainy' not sticky. 'Grainy' situation. Literally.
We were sinking into something. I looked down to see that it was some kind of sand. Uh oh, every action movies biggest enemy. Quick sand.
I know what you're thinking. Isn't quick sand fake? Well, it's an amazing time to say...you're wrong.
I looked up at the trapdoor in the roof which had just closed.
The roof of wherever we were was super strange. It was triangular pointing up. Like a tent. We were inside this building. The tent was red and white striped. Oh no, I think were in a circus. I hate clowns so much.
In my moments of thought, Maeve had already escaped the quick sand. She was covered in sand though. I completely forgot I was in a life or death situation.
She helped me out like it was nothing. We were both covered in sand now.
The cirus tent was pretty empty. Execpt for a tight rope, a huge ring, some other equipment and a cage. A really big cage. Of course there was a huge pool of quick sand.
I was debating wether this was the real world or something labyrinth 'dimension'. When someone opened the zip up door to the tent.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What I saw both confused me, scared me and didn't at all surprise me. It was three clowns walking into the rent. All of them with a red button nose.

We hid behind the pole in the middle of the tent.

2 more clowns walked in pulling something on a rope. It was a huge...wait a second. A huge cat? They were leading the huge brown and white spotted cat into the cage. The only problem was that Maeve was really allergic to cats. Any second, we'd be done.

So, she sneezed of course. The clowns looked over at us, angry. The cat looked even angrier.

"Who are you?" one of the clowns said in a high pitched male voice.

"Uh, I'm Maddie" I said. "My friend Maeve and I got lost in the labyrinth and ended up here" I finished, scared to death.

"Oh, not more of you!" said of the other clowns in a Brooklynn, New Yorkan accent. "For the millionth time! You're one of many you know!"

It was a little shocking to learn that we weren't the first ones.

The cat started to growl and bite at us. We had to get out. The other 2 clowns were holding it back. I checked my watch. It said 30 seconds.
"Do you know where there might be an exit to the lanyrinth?" I said, feeling anxious.

"Yeach, theres one just outside around the back. It's in a little hole in the pavement" said the clown.

"Thank you!" I said as we bolted outside. We immediately saw it. I grabbed Maeve's hand and jumped in.

BUT.             HER.           HAND.               SLIPPED.

I jumped into a smoke filled area. I had no idea where I was. I tried to go back through the hole but it was already closed.

Maeve was gone.
