[Ishani's POV....]
3 years ago....(2 years after Aria's death)
"I'm sorry for your loss, princess." The old man, my father's most trusted minister spoke to me before moving towards my Dadisa.
I lost my parents last week.
It was a car accident. But deep down I know that it wasn't just an accident.
It was a murder.
I gulped the lump formed in my throat and pushed back my tears before scanning the crowd.
So many people with pity in their eyes.
I hate it when people pity me but this time I am vulnerable.
My eyes settled on those particular ones.
Ayaansh.
He looked at me and his eyes softened for the first time in two years.
We didn't talk much after our break up two years ago. Every time we talked we ended up arguing and hurting each other's hearts.
He would not have to deal with that anymore.
At least for some while because I'll leave for Delhi in 2 weeks with Pari.
She'll go to New York after a few months.
This is it.
Even his eyes look at me with pity.
I moved away from the crowd to go upstairs, to the terrace. I need fresh air.
I went upstairs and open the door of the terrace.
The sky looked gloomy and dull.
Just like the mood of Rajasthan right now.
Everyone is mourning their king and queen's loss.
And everyone is looking at me with pity right now.
I heard footsteps behind me and the door fell shut and I knew who it was before even turning around.
"It was a murder." I said and turned around to face Ayaansh who raised a brow.
He raised his hand to wipe the tear remanents from under my eyes before he spoke lowly "why do you think so?"
"Papa was going to make a huge deal in the business party he was going to attend with mumma." I spoke as he caressed my cheek brushing the hair from my face.
"He-he made the deal too, but before coming back. The car brakes failed." I said and he frowned.
My exact fucking reaction.
"Car brakes failed?" He asked my again and I nodded.
"He is the king, his car is checked multiple times before he gets in. It was a planned murder Ayaansh." I said and he sighed deeply as if he was thinking something different.
"Ishani you need a break. From everything. You just lost your parents, grieve their death and stop working this brain of yours for a moment please." He whispered gently and adjusted my slipped dupatta over my shoulder properly.
I can't grieve.
I don't have the time.
I don't even know what to do? How to let my tears drop, who would even listen to me when I cry my heart out?
