Minho arrived home after work and heard the shower running, it must mean Yonghwa was already getting ready for the event later. So he hurried into his room, changing out of his work clothes into something comfortable so he could start making dinner.
He wanted to cook something she liked—it was a special day for her and he knew she loved his cooking—so he wanted to make something extra nice. He glanced at the ingredients in the fridge and debated on what to make that wouldn't take too long.
Settling for a ramen bowl with some grilled meat. Yonghwa loved ramen and he had some leftover broth he could just increment. He got all the necessary ingredients out and washed his hands before starting.
Meanwhile, Yonghwa finished her shower and stepped out after drying her body. Cleaning the fog on the mirror with the edge of her towel, she glanced at her reflection and took a deep breath, trying to keep her nerves under control as she applied her skincare.
She could hear Minho in the kitchen when she left the bathroom, relieved to know he was home already. As soon as she entered her room, she glanced at the dress she had picked to wear, second-guessing her choice.
This dress was very out of her comfort zone—she was not the type to wear tight or revealing clothing. Most of her outfits were in neutral colors and more conservative styles, she preferred to blend in when it came to her clothes.
But this dress—although not super bright and attention-grabbing—was still quite different from what she normally wore. It was a black, mid-length tube dress. It clung to her body and hugged it with its thick fabric helping to shape her curves.
The cleavage was a little deeper than she hoped and despite being a modest length, a split on her leg went up to her mid-thigh and she was a bit afraid it would be inappropriate for a work event.
She opened her closet in search of a different option, knowing fully well she did not have one. After staring vaguely at the clothes in front of her for some time, she gave up, whining pitifully in frustration as she reluctantly slid the dress on, not having any more time to waste.
Once dressed, she worked on her hair and makeup—the hair being the hardest part. She watched tons of tutorials on how to tame her volume and have her short hair behave and stay in place, almost using a full can of hairspray and suffocating herself in your room.
"Hwa-hwa, dinner is ready" Minho shouted from the kitchen
"Coming" she shouted back as she put on her shoes
With one last glance at the mirror and a tired sigh, she left the room towards the kitchen. That was the best she could do, there was no point in messing with her appearance any longer.
"I'll eat and then quickly shower and get dressed. We still have plenty of time but are you almost ready?" Minho said as he heard her approaching from behind him
"Yeah, I think so. Do I look okay?" she fidgeted with the dress, trying to hide her cleavage more and pull the slit down at the same time
"Let me see... Oh wow" his eyes widened when he saw her "You look stunning"
"R-really?" she blushed
"Yeah. Holy crap Yonghwa, you clean up good" he nodded in approvement
"Thanks" she chuckled and ran her hands on the side of the dress a few times
"How did you do that to your hair?" he pointed at it
"Hairspray. A ton of it. It's basically glued to my scalp"
"Well it looks nice" he set a bowl of ramen on the table for her "And I like your make-up, it suits you"
"Thank you" she blushed more and took a seat
