Relief washed over Yonghwa when she saw Minho's text. Knowing he was on his way made her tensed shoulders relax slightly and she felt more comfortable making her way to her table once her boss called for her.
She waited eagerly for Minho, keeping a close eye on the entrance, ignoring the people chatting all around her and the start of the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Minho was still at the train station, trying to explain to the paramedics what had happened. A few other people had gathered around to check what was going on and he kept glancing at the time on his phone, anxious about being late.
"So she just fell from the stairs and hit her head?" the paramedic asked as he crouched next to the girl
"Yeah" Minho nodded
"Did she slip or..."
"I'm not sure, I wasn't there"
"There are no stairs around here" the paramedic looked around
"My friend found her somewhere and brought her here"
"Your friend?"
"Yes, hm, she had to leave because she was late for an important appointment"
"Hm," he nodded "And why would she bring her here and not leave her where she fell?"
"She panicked and tried to find me, I guess there was no one else around"
"I see, well, she doesn't seem to be badly injured" he looked down at the girl "But we should get her to the hospital for a more thorough check-up, head injuries can be dangerous"
"Alright, hm, can I leave?" Minho asked and started turning away
"No, I need you to come with us"
"What? Why?"
"You're the one responsible for her"
"I don't know who she is, I just tried to help"
"I understand but-"
"W-where am I?" a faint voice came from the floor
They looked down and saw the girl blinking slowly, her body sluggishly moving as she attempted to look around, a big frown on her face as she seemed to be in pain.
"Hello, can you hear me?" the paramedic asked
"Yeah" she looked at him
"You're alright, don't worry" he held her head gently "Do you remember what happened?"
"Hm I- I was running a-and I slipped"
"You slipped and fell?"
"I think so" she groaned
"Does your head hurt a lot?"
"Yes"
"We'll get you to the hospital to check you out, okay? Don't worry"
"Hospital?" she widened her eyes "Am I hurt?"
She looked around again and screamed when she saw blood on the floor next to her. The paramedics tried to calm her down as she started to cry desperately and Minho stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do.
Once she calmed down a bit they were able to place her on a stretcher and start carrying her outside where the ambulance was. But to Minho's despair, she requested he come along.
"I- I'm really sorry but I have somewhere to be," he said, guilt stabbing at his heart
"Please" she sniffled and reached for his hand "I don't want to be alone"
