"Oh, that is definitely the one," Sanha gasped, her eyes widening as Yonghwa stepped out of the dressing room
"Is it nice?" Yonghwa murmured, turning toward the mirror, her fingers lightly tracing the fabric of the skirt as she tried to gauge its fit
"Nice? You look like a damn smoke show, Yonghwa. You have to get it," Sanha declared with an emphatic nod, her tone a mix of genuine awe and urgency
"But... is it appropriate for work, though?" Yonghwa twisted around to inspect the back, a flicker of hesitation crossing her face. The fabric hugged her curves in a way that felt bold—maybe too bold.
"For work? I thought this was supposed to be for confessing to Minho" Sanha's shoulders slumped, frustration seeping into her words "Yonghwa, are you seriously giving up again? It's been two months since the awar-"
"I'm not giving up," Yonghwa interjected, her voice tight "I'm confessing this time. Friday. But it has to work for both the office and after work"
Sanha frowned, a look of disbelief settling on her face "Why the same outfit, though? Just change first"
"I won't have time," Yonghwa muttered, absently adjusting the skirt again "I'll be rushing to pick up the flowers and chocolates right after work. I need to surprise him the moment I get home"
Sanha let out a small sigh, a mixture of exasperation and affection "Love, I'm sorry, but that is the weirdest confession plan I've ever heard. Why not a picnic? Or at least dinner? You know he likes romantic gestures"
"Flowers and chocolates are romantic, right?" Yonghwa's voice cracked slightly, betraying her insecurity as she searched Sanha's eyes for validation
"Sure... but why home? And right after work?"
"Because I couldn't get any decent reservations," Yonghwa admitted, her frustration bubbling over "I only decided to confess last night. Everything was booked"
Sanha's eyes softened with curiosity, but her words were sharp "What changed your mind? I thought you were worried because he had the hots for bus girl"
"Subway girl," Yonghwa corrected, her jaw tightening "But he hasn't mentioned her since that night. I think... I think it was just a passing thing"
"That's good, but what held you back for two whole months?" Sanha pressed, crossing her arms, her gaze probing
"I just... I wasn't sure. I kept doubting myself. Every time I got close, something felt off," Yonghwa confessed, her voice low, the vulnerability of months of uncertainty lacing her words "But last night changed things. I have to do this"
Sanha tilted her head, intrigued "What happened last night?"
Yonghwa's cheeks flushed a deep red "I... I saw him naked"
"You what?" Sanha shouted
"Shh! We're in public!" Yonghwa darted a glance around the store, her heart pounding. No one seemed to notice, but the embarrassment burned in her chest
"What the fuck do you mean you saw him naked?" Sanha came closer so she could speak lower
"He was coming out of the shower and I guess he thought I wasn't home. I don't know. He didn't actually wrap the towel around himself"
"So you saw his..." Sanha leaned in, hanging onto every word
"No. He like, covered it with the hand that was holding the towel and awkwardly shimmied backwards into his room" Yonghwa chuckled "He looked like a shrimp—he was so embarrassed"
