(ZY'LANI'S POV)
I'm walking down the street to get liyah from school. That's nothing new because she always doing some dumb shit.
I decided to stop by the gas station because liyah is always hungry and ion wanna hear her complaining today. Enough shit has popped off in the grove this week.
I opened the door only to run into someone, I looked up to see who and I seen him.
His dreads were long, black and blonde. they matched his skin tone well and he had the faint smell of Cologne and weed. Those few seconds were short and interrupted when spoke.
" Watch where the fuck you going." he said causing me to come out of my daze.
" I was just about to apologize. sorry." I said then walked past him to go into the store.
"Rude ass nigga'' I said under my breath.
I grabbed liyah some chips and a drink and went up to the counter to pay and talk to mama K, mama K used to let me come in the store and get food when our mom didn't come home and I didn't have a job yet.
" Hey mama k, how are you". I said.
" Im good lani, I miss you coming around. come see me more often like u used to".
" I'll try mama k, I've been working overtime to save up for my restaurant" I said truthfully.
" I know baby, but don't overwork yourself, you're young you have a life to live don't forget that."
" I know mama k, I love you stay safe for me." I said then I turned to leave before I was late to get liyah.
I walked out the store and he wasn't there anymore. I kinda hoped I seen him again. Even tho his smug ass comment annoyed me.
I arrived at " ORANGE GROVE HIGH SCHOOL" I just graduated last year but liyah is a sophomore. I hated orange grove. It's full of bitches that are superficial and start shit for no reason and fight over niggas. And the niggas were no better most of them are gang affiliated or just not shit in general.
I looked up from my phone to see liyah walking out.
" hey liyah, how was your day". I said to her to lighten the mood she hates this school as much as I did.
" It was alright, I just want these last few weeks to come fast." she said while scrolling on instagram.
I across the street and seen a all black hell cat with the windows down and I heard " To my lowest "by youngboy playing. I looked over at the driver side to see him again.
" Aye liyah who is that over there?" I asked
" Oh girl, thats bullet there's no way you don't know him''. liyah said.
"Well I don't he's just another nigga to me, he ain't nothing special." I said.
" you can't freeze every nigga out because of zeon. she said.
" shut up this doesn't have anything to do with him, I ran into him at the gas station thats all." I said.
" Oh okay" liyah said
The rest of the walk to the house was quiet because liyah knows she overstepped. I don't like talking about zeon for a reason.
Because of him I swore off all relationships. I refuse to let myself get hurt like that again.
We got home and I locked the door behind us because too much shit happens around here to leave your doors unlocked.
" liyah are u hungry?" I said.
"Nah, Im finna take a shower and go to sleep." liyah said.
" yeah aigh, I love you good night." I said
I decided to call the group chat because its' been quiet in there all day.
Ari answered Toni didn't.
" heyy '' I said
"heyy" Ari said
" where is Toni?" I said because she usually always picks up our calls.
" oh she out with this nigga "jj" " she said with a awkward look on her face.
" OUU shit what I miss'' I said excitedly.
" Girl he had been tryna get at her for a min, he kick it with bullet and them" she said while putting her stuff way.
"oh what you know about that bullet nigga, I ran into him at the store today." I said walking to the kitchen.
" I know a little bit about him, but it's hard to tell whats a lie and whats real." She said
" For starters you could tell me why he's so rude." I said causing Ari to laugh.
" Girl he's always been that way, Don't take it personally but are you interested in him or sumn" she said looking directly into the camera.
" Nah I think he fine tho, but i'm not looking for anyone right know you know that. I said thinking about what liyah said earlier.
" Oh okayy, well ima hit you back later i'm finna get in the shower. I said.
" alright, I love you lani good night." she said
I hung up the phone and walked to the bathroom and turned the shower on.
After a good 35 minute shower I put on some shorts and a crop top and turned my led lights to pink and tuned over and went to sleep.
