The days following the Yule Ball were a blur of tension and whispered conversations. Harry and Draco tried to maintain their normal routines, but the castle's atmosphere had shifted. Students eyed them with a mixture of curiosity, disapproval, and, in some cases, open hostility. The news of their relationship had spread like wildfire, and everyone seemed to have an opinion.

One morning, as Harry sat in the Great Hall with Hermione and Ron, the usual chatter was interrupted by the arrival of the owl post. Hundreds of owls swooped in, delivering letters and packages to eager students. Harry's attention was drawn to a sleek, black owl that flew directly to the Slytherin table, dropping a red envelope in front of Draco.

Draco's face went pale as he recognized the howler. The Great Hall fell silent, all eyes on him. The envelope began to smoke and tremble, the unmistakable signs of an incoming explosive message. Draco's hands shook as he picked it up, but before he could open it, the howler burst open on its own, echoing with the voice of Lucius Malfoy.

"DRACO LUCIUS MALFOY!" the voice boomed, shaking the very walls of the castle. "HOW DARE YOU DISGRACE THE FAMILY NAME WITH YOUR RECKLESS AND DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOR! CONSORTING WITH HARRY POTTER? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?"

The entire hall watched in stunned silence as the voice continued its tirade. "YOU WILL END THIS NONSENSE IMMEDIATELY AND RETURN TO THE FAMILY HOME AT ONCE! THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE BETRAYAL OF OUR BLOODLINE AND TRADITIONS. YOU WILL FACE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES FOR YOUR ACTIONS."

With a final burst of flames, the howler disintegrated, leaving Draco standing there, his face ashen and his hands clenched into fists. The silence in the hall was deafening. Students exchanged uneasy glances, and whispers started to spread like wildfire.

Harry felt a surge of anger and protectiveness. He stood up, his eyes fixed on Draco, who looked like he might crumble under the weight of his father's wrath. Ignoring the stares and whispers, Harry crossed the hall and reached out to Draco.

"Draco," he said softly, his voice steady despite the turmoil around them. "Are you okay?"

Draco looked up, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't go back. I won't let him control me anymore."

Hermione and Ron joined them, standing by their side in a show of solidarity. "We'll figure this out," Hermione said firmly. "You're not alone, Draco."

Draco nodded, drawing strength from their support. "Thank you," he said, his voice trembling with emotion. "I don't know what I would do without you."
