in winterfell
sansa returned to the table and kept glancing over at joffrey. he gave her a smile as she looked at him. "you know for someone who isn't happy about their betrothal you are rather flirty." josephine laughed. "shut up, i'm playing the part. it doesn't mean i'm happy about it." he replied.
next thing josephine sees is arya flinging food across the table and hitting her sister in the face with it. sansa gets upset and embarrassed as her friend cleans off her face. lady stark gestures for robb to stop arya before it gets worse. he picks her up and places her on the floor, " time for bed." he looks to his mother leading his sister out of the room. "are you ready for bed, my sweets." josephine asks her younger siblings and they both nod. she looks to her mother letting her know she's taking tommen and myrcella to bed. the queen nods her head in approval. as josephine leads them out of the room she notices her uncle jaimie harassing lord stark and she shakes her head.
"goodnight father. i'm taking these two to bed." josephine says to her father kissing his cheek. "goodnight, my light." he responds. she leads them down the hallway to their chambers. after helping the both of them change and telling them a story she leaves the room to head to her own chambers when she notices robb.
"are you following me, lord stark." she says smiling at him. "of course not. that would not be appropriate now would it, princess?" he responded. "however, since i'm here i could walk you to your chambers." he suggested with a smile. "i would enjoy that." she blushed holding onto his arm. robb finally decides to bring up the topic they've both been avoiding. "so, are you aware that we are to be wed?"
"yes, i am aware. my father told me before we left king's landing." she told him. "my father told me not long after you arrived. did you agree to the union?" he asked her knowing she probably didn't have much of a choice. "i did. did you?" josephine asked scared of his answer. "i did." robb replied stopping in front of her door. "so, we are to be man and wife at the end of my father's stay." she said not knowing what else to say. "yes we are. may i?" he asked getting closer to her. josephine couldn't find any words so she just nodded her head. robb reached his hand up holding the side of her face and leaned down. she closed her eyes and felt his lips touch hers. her stomach fills with butterflies and tingles shoot all over her body. this was her first kiss and it was magical.
after a few moments he pulls away, "goodnight, princess." he places a quick kiss to her lips again. "goodnight, lord stark." she smiles at him. he begins to walk down the hall she enters her room. she closes the door and them leans against it. josephine feels the heat rising in her cheeks and she can't stop from smiling.
josephine finishes readying for bed when she hears a knock on her door. "yes?" she calls out. "it's me." she hears joffrey from the other side. "oh, come in." she responds and he enters her chambers closing the door behind him. he walks over to her bed and sits on the edge. "josie, i don't want to marry her." he says looking over to her. joffrey is the only person who has ever called her josie and he only really ever did when they were alone. she walked over sitting next to him. "i know you don't, joff." she said leaning her head on his shoulder. "but you are the heir to the iron throne. you must wed soon and have an heir of your own. strengthen our line. at least she's pretty." josephine explained to her twin. "why must you marry someone so far away? leaving me alone with the rest of our family."
"i'm a princess and i must do as our father says. it's the way of the world." watching her family leave her in winterfell was going to be one of the hardest things she's ever done. being alone with no one she knows or who knows her was going to be an adjustment, but she was willing to do it. josephine has always known her fate and that it was not going to change. she had to embrace it or it would destroy her. plus, after her kiss with robb she knew there was something between them.
