Jeremiah is the first to walk out "what's up!"
Laurel steps out the car first "hi, oh my go-"
"hello!" he interrupts running to her, his arms out awaiting a hug
Jeremiah hugs Steven next as Laurel moves on to Susannah. both Payden and Belly get out JJ behind them as he slightly cowards in Payden's shadow
Steven and Jeremiah talk about random boy stuff as the Fisher brother stops to look at Belly
"hey" she giggles as she does a cheesy smile
"look who came back all grower up" he says as he twirls her around, she quietly pretends to protest
"Payyyy, damn look at you too" he says as he mimics the same hug he did to Belly
"oh! Jere, this is my little brother. JJ, this is Jeremiah" she introduces
Jeremiah is the first to speak up "hey man, good to see ya" he dabs him up giving him a few hits on the back
They all get invested in something Laurel was waving them over for something. JJ looks back in forth between his sister and the group
"well, go on" she shoves him over to the crowd. it's his first year, she's gotta push him over his walls
as the sister turns her head the only thing her eyes lay on is a familiar, tall, brunette, boy
his light eyes lay on her and suddenly everything around the two goes blurry. she could swear her pupils dilated at the mere sight of him

once he finally gets close enough to get a good look at her Conrad finally speaks after what felt like a decade to Payden
"since when did you wear so much makeup?" he jokes. it would sound mean to anyone else, but Payden could read by the way his eyebrow quirks up that it was sarcastic, she could read him in a way no one else could
"you're just mad cause you know everyone's gonna fall in love with me this summer" she rolls her eyes
he looks at her for a minute before pushing her head to the side as she swats his hand away
