𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑, Belly in the drivers seat, Jere in the passengers, and Payden in the back blasting Taylor Swift on the aux
"okay, slow and steady. you're doing great. just keep going straight, okay?"
"okay" Belly says in a hushed tone
"you can hurry up a bit though Bells" Payden says urging Belly on
"Pay, stop you're gonna make us crash" Jere laughs to himself look back at her in the rear view mirror
"you let me teach Belly, alright? you can jam out to Taylor Swift back there"
"that, i will" she smiles pressing his nose like a button while scrunching her own nose up
he turns a bit pink at the interaction but quickly turns away changing the subject
"so, uh" he clears his throat "Belly, you excited to see Taylor?"
"yeah, of course. so excited"
"you sure?" Jeremiah chuckles
"Belly you're a horrendous liar" Payden says from the backseat
Belly giggles at her before continuing the conversation
"look, she's my best friend in the world but, um, i mean, you know how Taylor is. she's like a hurricane"
"oh, yeah, yeah. hurricane Taylor"
the three of them giggle "Payden's a bit better at matching her energy than i am"
"mirrorball girlie forever!" Payden smiles leaning on the center console including herself a bit more
"and i guess i always feel like a supporting character around her, which, normally, i don't mind"
Payden spots the slight tension between the two and leans more to the backseat again, not wanting to interfere. she rubs Belly's shoulder in a silent support
"but it's your birthday" Jere says "and you're the main character, Belly, not her"
"yeah. thanks, Jere"
the two smile at each other going completely noticed by Payden. she wants to say that Belly is a main character to her, like this is a show and they're the main characters together, but she stays silent
Belly becomes a bit distracted looking at Jere as the car starts to swerve
Payden's first instinct was so grab Jere's arm and squeeze as hard as possible
