There was this girl in the mirror,
She's so beautiful,
She's a soldier,
She's invincible.

She befriends the monsters
in the dark,
They were so close,
She hides her tears
under her smile
and the blocked ears and nose.

She's a good girl
for she had to abandon her joy,
She's a nice girl
for she had to be everyone's toy.

She's a barrier
for the people she likes,
She's a warrior
for the people she owns.

She's a sister for one,
a daughter for two
and the only one for her friend who is true.

She had a beautiful scar on her hand and
a hectic trauma in her head,
Which no one knew that she had
and yet she wasn't mad.

She was told to
light a fire up in the sky
but alas she didn't have feathers and wings,
She was told to
go diving in the sea
but alas she didn't have scales and gills,
Though did she give up,
Though did she fail.

She had a mouth,
She was bad at expressing
her feelings through it,
Instead,
She had a book,
She wrote everything in it.

She is chaotic and autistic
They said,
She is artistic and poetic
They must have said.

She was scared of
letting people ruin her heart again
for she sealed her heart with a rusted lock
and the key was lost and never found again.

She's the girl in the mirror,
She's so pretty,
She's a fighter,
She's the girl I never expected that I'd be,
She was me...
